This solution for my old Wii (and an older 720P TV) worked perfectly! (note: had tried two different Wii to HDMI connectors that supposedly supported 720P TVs, but they really only supported 1080P TVs). Thank you for this very helpful video.
@Jack I literally had everything I needed to fix my wii years ago and COULDN'T until I found this video! I didn't know it needed a power source. THANK YOU!!!
For anyone getting no signal it may be because you have the wrong adapter. We had the wrong one it says HDMI2AV, you need AV2HDMI. Hope that helped someone lol
a wii2hdmi adapter is better because it allows 480p in the wii settings but the wii mini rvl-201 doesn't work with wii2hdmi because it doesn't support ypbpr component video
I think Nitendo should get into some kind of agreement with the television manufactures to continue to have RCA connector on their tv. At least if one or some brand would keep these kind of connectors, we would be able to buy a tv for OUR own specific needs. Or Nitendo could make available a licensed adapter proper for its product (Wii). Or should we just trash their products after awhile?

I use this adaptor, I get picture but no audio! It won’t let me change the audio selection to HDMI in the settings either. I’ve had the sound work on this tv before but don’t remember what was done to get it. Help!

I have a question... like about a week ago, I bought this converter off of Amazon to fix the atrocious graphics I was getting off of my onn Roku TV(with the wii mini)... it had the plugs for the av already built-in, but the graphics were just awful... I tried with this thinking it was gonna fix the issue.. well it did, but not at first. I thought the converter was a bust... but then two days later, I noticed the graphical quality has somehow skyrocketed up! WAY up! and it might possibly still be improving somehow. . I want to know if you or anyone reading this knows what's going on with this? Am a little scared that this might be slowly breaking or something. It'd be nice to know what in blazes is going on.
@@juanach4948 I don't really know... A few years back, I once heard SOMETHING about this. Not sure if it was the converter box, but it MAY have had something to do with the wiis screen burn reduction feature. From what I heard... This makes the console work better WITH the TV. Go to the settings on the Wii, and make sure this feature is on. Your PROBABLY going to have to wait a LONG time before you start seeing any improvements(like DAYS). I also had to make adjustments to the brightness and color, sharpness, etc. If NOTHING seems to be improving... Then it MAY have had SOMETHING to do with the converter box WORKING with the console's screen burn reduction feature. I also don't really know about the Samsung TV's or much of anything to do with any smart tv(rly), I'm NEW to smart TVs. Does it really upscale the image from your stock video cables??
No it just allows you to use an AV output on a HDMI only TV
Kaico Wii HDMI Adapter is way better it uses component for a true 480p output, it also requires no external power.
