Love hearing Rob's insights of working with the FIGC informing what he expects. The comments about the badge and the marble design not working are spot on for me. The other aspect is the color -- Adidas have produced some gorgeous Azure Blue shirts for the Italian rugby team, so this shade of blue is such a let down, especially in comparison; not remotely Azure. Would love to hear about color swatches for designing an Azzurri shirt, and what informs the choices (designers vs. the federation vs. brand analytics).
Glad you're enjoying the content! That's a great point RE the blue, which is definitely much more striking on the rugby shirts. It would be interesting to see how much the shade of blue has been driven by the FIGC vs the brand. I'll defer to Rob on that one!
I agree with Rob: the home kit feels very pedestrian and quite disappointing for the beginning of Adidas's run with Italy. The subtle tricolor in the three stripes on the sleeves is about the best thing this has going for it. I suspect this'll be the classic case of a kit that looks better when completed with a nameset and numbering, but probably not enough to make the kit feel special or memorable. I'd guess there's some 4-D chess at Adidas, holding a banger of a kit design in reserve for the Euros.
I have to agree 100% with Rob, Italian kits from Puma, and historically, have been always pretty clean and plain, with Royal Blue being the protagonist... even though Puma went somehow crazy with the latest designs (usually with fabric variations), i think the "Marble" effect on the blue kit wasn't accomplished properly. In fact, a more plausible design concept would have been the italian connection with the sea or something like that. In general lines, its a "likeable" kit, but not outstanding and by hiding the crest it becomes a Leicester City - Chelsea (when Adidas) - Japan or a second kit for a normal club
The current shirts for Italy by Adidas are really nice. Using the mix of green white and red on the home shirt trim and having green then red on different sides of the away shirt makes it very much like a traditional national football shirt design. They mixed up the three striped trim with France and used the red/blue for the French white change shirts in the 80s/90s
I'm not a designer by any stretch of the imagination. However, as an Italian tifosi of over 50 years... the badge is garbage, far too simple. IMO, worst badge ever. If they wanted to go simple, they could have referred to the classic badge from the 70's to 1982 or even the logo used on the 2000 Kappa kits. If adidas was going to include gold accents, (nice touch BTW) then the four stars should have been gold as well. The kit and the marble effect definitely works better on the away kit.
I think the effect hadn’t come off on the home kit, with the contrast on the away it works a looks like Italian Marble. The home kit actually does remind me of Nikes Dutch from obvious viewing. But the marble pattern has been used on other teams, pretty LAFC have used it on their new Away kit. I personally think the Italian home kit should’ve ditched the gold on the trims, jus keep old school, all blue.
I don't get why they used a weird blue and the pattern as background. I get this on the away kit, but Italy has just a very recognized kit to work around with, so I'm with Rob
I take elements of both of your views. Rob is right in his opinion of The Crest. Personally my favourite Italian crest is from 1984 and 1992. But my favourite kit of theirs is The 1994 Diadora kit. Absolutely stunning. 🇮🇹🇪🇺
Ahhh I sized up with the puma 3rd renaissance kit player version and it was too big so it went back and changed it for a large I know with Nike I'd always size up. Guess I'll try and let you guys know! Great video! thank you
Maybe it was similar to franchise Arsenal kit a few seasons ago because that might have been based on old marble halls off Highbury? I’m not sure as a spurs Adidas fan but if that is the reason I’m guessing if you’re seeing one type of marble print then you have seen them all !? ? 🤷♂️
I'm with Rob on this one. Underwhelming is the word! New badge very plain Jane. On the other hand; great to see you lads back in the game. Been checking your page most days for the last couple weeks. Really appreciate the content!
I will definitely miss Puma with Italy...I agree that logo is too simple, almost cartoony. Not a fan of it. Not a fan of Adidas myself, but this has nothing to do with that. Away kit looks stunning though.
Given what Puma and Kappa's first Italy kits looked like, Adidas is off to a great start. People have short memories. Could this be better? Yes, and I'm sure it will improve. Also keep in mind this is a non-tournament kit(not counting the nations league) and will only be used for 1 year. I expect the next kit's design to be improved.
I'm afraid this time I'm with Rob, the design is very limited for be an Italian kit, especially after seeing what Puma did with the renaissance collection. however the authentic shirt works for me.
A bit of a disappointment this shirt if lm honest. Great review and interesting to hear what you both thought....looking forward to more vlogs and reviews fellas.
Im not a big fan of these new Italy Adidas shirts not as beautiful as the Puma's, I don't think the three stripes suit the Azzurri shirt should be understated and free of nik-naks. Quite honestly when you look back to glorious Italy shirts like; the 1982 world cup Le Coq Sportif, 1986/1990/1994 world cup Diadora, and 1996 Euro Nike, etc.... this is a letdown and probably the least good-looking Italy shirt to date the Italy logo isn't as beautiful or as special as it's predecessors either.
Loving all the comments here people and please keep them coming on all our videos, that's what makes us do this as we love to debate, and if everyone agreed the world would be well, a little like Sunderland, mid-table cack (just a joke people, don't go all Sam Fender on me) :)
It definitely feels a bit middle of the road. Adidas fabric was terrible in my opinion on both the authentic and stadium version last season. I feel like the shirt needs better technical achievement with the fabric and the design. Spot on with the gold trim it would look much better with a thinner stripe. The away kit looks much better visually but these shirts from Adidas are a pass for me.
Respect both of your views and review on the the authentic and replica here. The details we wouldn't notice until after the buy is helpful. I feel like the badge could have been better and the replicas for what they price them at are pointless to buy. I like the simplicity of the home but not unique enough. Thanks guys, love your videos!
Shirt in the United States are outrageously expensive , I’m sure that is the case with most countries but the term technology get thrown around to cover for incredibly minimal changes . A patch of mesh on the armpit of a shirt shouldn’t cost an extra 60 dollars on a shirt… neither should a different neck line or a thinner material… less crest … it’s always less and the innovations are less than actual innovation … more like a trick
So, who do you agree with? Are you with Craig, and a fan of the new Italy offering from Adidas, or do you find it underwhelming like Rob? Let us know!
Its a great kit.

How. Many. Pauses. Do. I. Need. In. That. Intro? Good grief... 😂

Agreed
I agree! Not a fan of the badge at all - Tom
This yt channel deserves much more than 3.4K
Thank you! Hopefully we can keep growing & producing content for you guys! :)
keep spreading the word my friend :)
Great stuff as always, gents!
Great Vid! What are you guys thoughts on the new Jamaica kits from Adidas? Be curious to hear opinions

The home kit is no where near the level of intrigue and brilliance the away kit displays.
I’d love to see both of you make a mock up of iconic teams jerseys and how you’d do it. You both have so much kit knowledge
You’ll like a film we have coming up at the end of the season then! 👀
I don't get why they used a weird blue and the pattern as background. I get this on the away kit, but Italy has just a very recognized kit to work around with, so I'm with Rob

Finally they’re back !
We hope it's worth the wait ;)
Do you reckon size up on the authentic kit? I know it changes from brand to brand?
In general, sizing up is always a safer bet. It depends on your build, but we'd definitely usually recommend it!
Ahhh I sized up with the puma 3rd renaissance kit player version and it was too big so it went back and changed it for a large I know with Nike I'd always size up. Guess I'll try and let you guys know! Great video! thank you
Agree with Rob. good shirt but not great, i don't the like gold trim.
The away kit is awesome.
Also hate the new logo, way better the old one.
Please review the Away shirts.
It’s odd, they only updated the crest a couple of years ago, and agree that looked better.
Maybe it was similar to franchise Arsenal kit a few seasons ago because that might have been based on old marble halls off Highbury? I’m not sure as a spurs Adidas fan but if that is the reason I’m guessing if you’re seeing one type of marble print then you have seen them all !? ? 🤷♂️
Always been my reference 🙌🏼.. great content
Glad you're enjoying our videos!
I brought the cotton DNA T shirt and Polo shirt recently along with jacket. Absolutely love it. And Icon shirt. Glad Adidas finally got Italy
I'm with Rob on this one. Underwhelming is the word! New badge very plain Jane. On the other hand; great to see you lads back in the game. Been checking your page most days for the last couple weeks. Really appreciate the content!
Thanks for the support! We’re back on weekly uploads now, every Tuesday. A very exciting video coming up next too :)
I will definitely miss Puma with Italy...I agree that logo is too simple, almost cartoony. Not a fan of it. Not a fan of Adidas myself, but this has nothing to do with that. Away kit looks stunning though.
I expected much more from adidas for Italy's first shirt
Given what Puma and Kappa's first Italy kits looked like, Adidas is off to a great start. People have short memories. Could this be better? Yes, and I'm sure it will improve. Also keep in mind this is a non-tournament kit(not counting the nations league) and will only be used for 1 year. I expect the next kit's design to be improved.
I forgot to add: Great content, and I love the review!
They are disgusting

Nothing to be afraid of! History will prove you correct!
The away kit looks amazing!
Pls do for the special edition jersey like Read Madrid dragon jersey for your video. I like to hear your opinion on the special edition jersey.
The home kit graphic represents the Mediterranean Sea, not marble. The away kit represents marble.
Love both the home and away.
If you had to pick a favourite, which one are you going for? 👀
Agree with Rob that the Adidas World Cup shirts have much better design. Mexico away for example
Rob 100% especially what he said at the end
This channel is amazing deserves more credit!!!
We're seeing a dramatic drop off being replica and authentic with recent Adidas releases, the MLS teams are night and day with differences.
A bit of a disappointment this shirt if lm honest. Great review and interesting to hear what you both thought....looking forward to more vlogs and reviews fellas.
TBH, a bit underwhelming, doesn't have the iconic ITALIA Kappa style
Im not a big fan of these new Italy Adidas shirts not as beautiful as the Puma's, I don't think the three stripes suit the Azzurri shirt should be understated and free of nik-naks. Im an architect and Marble doesn't come in blue...lol. The graphic has to suit the colour for it to make sense.
🇵🇪Peru just got their first Adidas jerseys since 1985 and I loved them. Please review them!🙏
I would have liked to hear a greater insight of working with the Italian federation.
It looks like a Japan kit
I think the home kit is a stunner
Get the mls authentic and replica in and then see those differences 😂😂

S E N S A T I O N A L 🗿🍷🥂
They look pretty decent to me.
When was the last time a England shirt looked that good.
About 2012 we think ;)
@@TheKitBreakdown Something like that & that was Umbro.

Team Craig (albeit the away kit is more impressive)
I think the pattern on the home kit represents the sea.
Just bought a replica at the Adidas store. I love it!!!!
This one is quite nice but the euro24 Kit is truly awful and truly un Italian. Like they didn’t even look at the past kits.
Liverpool go back to adidas
