Matt from Royal Caribbean Blog actually ranks Falmouth as his absolute Least favorite port, partially because the port is just So very far from everything
We will be on Symphony of the Seas and stopping in Falmouth on 04/12 in lieu of Labadee, Haiti. We've been to Jamaica before. We would rather not stop at all, and be refunded the port fees. We're not spending $140 and about 2 hours roundtrip in a crappy taxi to a beach from Falmouth. That $140 wouldn't even cover chairs, lunch, boat ride, snorkling, or anything else. It's just a taxi ride to get you there and back. And we're not at all interested in venturing around the dangerous areas outside the Falmouth cruise terminal. It's a huge disappointment that Royal Caribbean decided to shove this stop in to replace Labadee. We're on an 8-day southern Caribbean cruise, and we only stop in Aruba, Curacao, and Jamaica. Ugh!
What a bummer! I was just on Symphony and she's my favorite ship in the fleet so far! Montego bay is very close to Falmouth- maybe try and head that direction instead of Ochos Rios. Sometimes I can have less expectations for a port and come out happier than I thought.
Jamaica is still a developing country. It is rich culture but it is also very poor. It can be rough to some people. It just depends on where you go in Jamaica as well.
5 years ago my family went on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. One of the stops was Falmouth. What a nightmare……..We got off the ship and went into town because my wife lost her glasses and wanted to see an Optician. Everyone wanted money to show us where one could be located along with people just asking us for money. Any person we talked to was “our guide” and wanted money. We had to tell people my daughter was vomiting so they would leave us alone. Never going back. Never get off a ship in Jamaica . Also had a bad experience in Negril and Ocho Rios ..Totally scary…. Will never go back
at 3:27...its interesting to see that birds of a feather flock together. You have the overweight set of women in black with black hair on one side that all look identical and then the second set of identical appearing tall thin athletic young men with identical clothes and hair on the right... Might as well be clones of each other.
@@kimkirksey562 LOL. I forgot all about this comment. My flock would be the chubby middle-aged american women with frizzy hair and recently-purchased tommy bahama outfits that we'll never wear anywhere else because we'll no longer fit into them by the end of the vacation.

I want to say after my second visit on Symphony (video upcoming!) I really have to agree with him

@@JacksonJetsetting I've already set my expectations very low. So, yes, I doubt I will be disappointed. 🙃

For sure!
We don't get off the ship in Jamaica, unless it's a guided excursion. People their are very pushy and rude.
I'm not a fan of Falmouth, for sure

I don't love this location- and lots of scams definitely exist out there. Sorry you had a bad time! Thanks for the comment.

I think it's just a coincidence!
What is your flock?
