    Cajon Pass is a unique mountain pass of I-15 and is also an iconic Route 66 mountain pass too. Speaking of US routes, that mountain pass has former US 66/US 91/US 395 marked there.

    Lovely Drive. Glad to See an HOV Lane with It! Great Job on the Video and Music Selection!

    I always felt like Cajon Pass less like a pass since it ascends up onto the plateau of the high desert.

    Whenever I get to the cajon pass I always take the exit on Devore rd and make a right onto what is known as the old route 66 to avoid the heavy traffic going up the pass. 😁

    Great drive! Have you seen 5 mph (10 km/h) exit ramp on Arroyo Seco Parkway (CA-110)? The 5 mph (10 km/h) exit ramp is located on York Boulevard (southbound only), Avenue 60, and Via Marisol (southbound only). You would have to slam your break to exit and traffic entering the Parkway must wait at the stop sign. This is due to Parkway opened in 1940 and those exit ramp has not been changed ever since.

      I have. I have driven the Arooya Seco Parkway (it'll always be the Pasadena Freeway to me) several times.

    I have often wondered why the 210 changes from being an interstate to a state highway. It seems the entire route is Interstate-worthy.

    I wonder why there are no control cities listed on signs for I-605, like northbound is to Duarte & Baldwin park and southbound to seal beach as well as Long Beach

  • @CrystalClearWith8BE
    @CrystalClearWith8BE 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    What I found strange of I-605 is there are no location names under the highway shield, but instead says thru traffic. I'd say between Long Beach, Norwalk and Baldwin Park.

    • @AsphaltPlanet1
      @AsphaltPlanet1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It certainly makes the 605 unique.

      The Twin Cities also Doesn’t have a lot of Signs that have a Location Name or Control City.

      Don't forget the 407/ETR (excluding the extension) around the GTA.

      Personally, for I-605N, I would choose Pasadena/San Bernardino. Southbound would be Long Beach.

    • @CrystalClearWith8BE
      @CrystalClearWith8BE ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@markovic2018, a lot of cities I-605 pass through are suburbs. However, I like the way southbound I-605 should sign Long Beach because it's a satellite city of L.A..

      @@SlowedByCinnamxn there was a sign on the southbound side of I-405 and it was an overhead sign I was wondering if it was new or not. It is @ the very beginning of the video

    • @AsphaltPlanet1
      @AsphaltPlanet1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think that is a new southbound sign. I think it was installed when they widened the 405 through Seal Beach a few years ago.

      @@AsphaltPlanet1 oh ok why did they remove those southbound signs tho?

    • @AsphaltPlanet1

      The old signs were in the way of the highway being widened.

    I’ve been on interstate 15 in San Diego California but I wonder why interstate 215 doesn’t continue south of Murrieta. Why doesn’t interstate 215 continue south to state route 78 in Escondido. If interstate 215 continued to San Diego it would take traffic off interstate 15.
