      @@DariusBuildz i got a used 15 model engine blew in 4 months, lucky for me the replaced it with a new one at the dealer. it had 170k on it, the vvt oil thing was bad but it didnt show a code, until after it cause the rings to go. it wasnt eating oil either. ive had it for 1 year and 7 months now, and the only issues ive had since then is the driver seat stopped moving. the velvet pipe on the drivers side broke. its a 1300 dollar fix for the dealer but i was able to fix it with aliexpress parts for 9 bux. i think they will only replace the whole assembly instead of just that one part

    Have a 2016 Mazda 6 soul red bought used at 33k miles. At 90k miles now and not one issue mechanically. Love the car gets great gas mileage. The paint is the only real issue. Paint chips are a problem . I think the paint is weak and Mazda hopefully has improved this going forward.

    They are good runners. I've learned that the Mazda fares better down south, they use less aluminum and galvanized panels than Toyota so the years you have them matters more than the miles up North. I had mine 8 years with only 78,000 miles and things just started rotting out.

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't have to deal with the abundance of salt and chemicals that comes from having that winter weather. That's the one thing the south has going for it.

    I want to ask about the noise level of the car? I measured 81 decibels close to the dashboard at a speed of 130 km/h, but 85 decibels at the window, which is very loud and disturbing. have you experienced this in the car?

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I downloaded the NIOSH SLM and at 80 mpg it was reading 72-73 db under light load. I have low profile tires and a Corksport axle back. Mazda didn’t add the extra 300lbs of sound deadening until 2017 I think, so if anything, mine should be reading higher than yours u less it’s the difference between the app itself.

  • @bourboncat9229
    @bourboncat9229 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Bro the reason for paint chips is u guys drive too aggressively behind other drivers at high speeds. I’ve stopped doing that ever since I noticed it on the first car I ever owned. I own the higher trim Mazda 6 2016 and I don’t get them often ever since avoiding driving so close behind lifted trucks or semis on the highway. They have bigger tread spaces on the tires and will pick up big pebbles on the road flicking them back at u if u are tailgating. So it is the drivers fault 100% not the manufacturer. If u want to avoid that u need to put a ppf or something on the front end to avoid more in the long run

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't tailgate as the MRCC does not allow it. I drive 150 miles round trip to work everyday and for 3 years that was through various highway construction areas and thats where my paint chips came from and thats how my windshield got peppered. I could literally hear the road debris hitting my car.

      I'm at 173k miles currently, and the only issues i've had so far is the rear passenger side brake caliper e-brake assembly got stuck on me. Changing the AC compressor will depend. A shop will charge upwards of $800-1200 to do the complete job. Time, labor, parts and to vacuum / charge the system. Everytime leaving the dealership my ride is stiff as hell making the small bumps so damn hard on the car. When I get home the psi I started with at 35 in the morning before my visit after coming back home a couple hours later letting them cool the damn psi is at 40 when cold lol.
