You are 100% correct Chris. Even if someone uses only legal apps and does nothing illegal online and never logs on to a foreign server a VPN can serve many useful functions such as protecting your connection when you are using a public hotspot. Or it can stop you from being tracked online.
I recently swapped isp from BT to virgin. Had an account with Ip vanish worked fine with bt, no issues. Found as soon as swapped to virgin had loads of issues with Ip vanish. Virgin seem to be blocking alot of their servers, I couldn't even use wireguard. I now have a Vpn elsewhere which isnt one of the big boys
I just started getting extremely slow speeds with my ipvanish anything you can recommend I've reset both my modem and router, uninstalled and reinstalled the app tried different protocols and ports and my speed is at 23mbps and 15mbps and it doesn't even connect on wireguard which I was using and getting around 60mbps I've tried contacting them and the suggested everything that I've done and nothing has helped.

People may want to change the DNS they use. I use Quad 9 and run the DNS queries through a vpn as well. That way the only one that knows what sites i am visiting is the vpn provider for those of us that don’t want the ISP snooping.

My Netflix account (i live uk) has just started acting strange 2 of my fav shows suddenly disappeared from Netflix completely but when I turn on my mobile data hotspot the shows turn up it’s like it’s blocked on my internet ? This has only started happening since my mate side loaded 3 apps on my Firestick he said it was safe and can’t be affecting my Netflix as I use my paid account for Netflix

That's the main reason for almost all of his videos! The vpn! They hardly ever tell you about how to get good movies or anything like that only except for the ones that are quote free and legal the only reason they get on here is to sell the VPN do not be fooled!

The purpose of a vpn is to hide you , once your account is installed you don’t have to do anything other than a few simple feature changes in the settings. You definitely need a vpn , open free wifi are risky anyone can see what your doing , you want one that also has zero logs , most recommend ones are IPVanish or surshark , these also allow you as many devices as you want where rest have a limit from 5-10 ,

Just recently a few weeks ago I did a software update on my 4K Fire stick since then ITV X will not open, I have tried everything possible to no avail, I have even done a factory reset that didn’t work either. I have tried deleting cache, and also deleting the ITV X app and reinstalling it that didn’t work either… I tried turning off the power source for 3 minutes, no success there…..Have you any ideas what I can do to get the app to open please, T I A regards Christine
I have never used a VPN. Been using firesticks since the first generation. Hundreds of my fellow firestick users do not use a VPN. The reason people sometimes get locked apps or buffering comes from the wifi connection they are using. Once the wifi is up to speed, problem fades. So the next time you go on vacation, check your wifi connection if you experience problems. The Idea that people need VPN is a scare tactic used to influence people to obtain VPN. Talk about this now.

And use VPN safety dot to let you know when your VPN is on or off.

Your ISP can see everything you do online without a VPN, you run the risk of being cut off or worse.
I've noticed when I use a VPN I get more streaming links than without a VPN.
