I’ve been using proton for months now never had a problem and I always get better internet speeds when connected to them. My isp says is should get 80 - 100 with proton I’m always above 100mbps

It has been suggested that downloading an older version of the Proton VPN app may work for your device. To do this, visit the Proton VPN download page on my website (28907 Downloader short code, then select the TOOLS category, then MOUSE TOGGLE from the list) and scroll down to “Download Previous Versions”. From there, choose v2.6.91. I hope this solution works for you. Please let me know in the comments if it does.

Love Proton vpn/mail I have it on every stick and cube, tablet, laptop. Even run it on vers 5 stick. Had to goto site( what it was escapes me) and tried older versions of Proton till one worked. Just can't upgrade and doesn't have current setup.

Hi Tanya, I am a fan of your channel. I think you post the best content about firesticks on TH-cam. I use the free version of Proton VPN on my firestick but have noticed my speed drop from 270 to 70 which is a pity. How many good free VPNs exist? preferably a free VPN with a no logs policy, access to geo-restricted areas and unlimited data or are there any really good free VPNs that maybe tick two of the boxes really well but falls short on one.
Or is there a really good paid one that is very cheap like maybe £20 for a two year subscription. Making a video comparing the free VPNs and another comparing cheaper VPNs would be great content for viewers. Do you also recommend any must have apps?
In my opinion, Proton is one of the top free VPN options that I have come across. However, I must admit that I haven't reviewed many other free VPNs to give a fair comparison. If you want to find the best one for your needs, it may be helpful to explore other channels or do some research online. I appreciate your suggestion and will definitely consider looking into more options and comparing them in the future.

I've been using ProtonVPN and also Proton Mail for well over a year. I do find using there email cumbersome and confusing to use, so I really don't use it for my email. I setup multiple emails to utilize the VPN on many devices including my Window devices.

You can disconnect your VPN when using Prime, or add Prime to your Split Tunnelling options in your VPN settings.

Hi Tanya, great video as always. Hope you can help, I've tried Proton free but being in Spain the free version doesn't give servers in UK so I have just tried "AwardVPN" which worked with the Beeb initially untill I switched to another UK tv app and firestick detected I was using a VPN as it does if try using Prime or in some UK apps just comes back with an error like the VPN isn't working. Anyway as the Beeb worked I went back to that app and that now didn't work. It is a new ish stick so no "Developer" option but I did the 7 clicks which gave the option. Any advice please?

I’ve told many people about this VPN and some were able to sign up to it but as of December 20 anyone I’ve told about the VPN and now it comes up as it should but every code it gives out says the code is no longer valid so was it just a limited time thing or is something wrong with the site? I have just checked this (7th Jan), and everything is still working correctly, as shown in the video. You must go to protonvpn.com/tv and sign into your account. You must enter the code shown on your TV within the time limit, or the code will expire. If that is the case, exit the Proton VPN app on the Firestick and reopen it to get a new code.

If you have a non-4K stick, this will not work. you need the 6.0 software version.

If you're finding it difficult to control the mouse pointer, it could be because you're applying too much pressure or holding down the button for too long. Instead, try giving the directional button gentle taps to slowly and accurately move the pointer across the screen.

It seems that your device may not be supported because it is older. However, there is a solution. It has been suggested that downloading an older version of the Proton VPN app may work for your device. To do this, simply use the short code 28907 in the Downloader app to visit my Downloads page. Then click the the VPN category and click Proton VPN from the list. On the next page, scroll down to “Download Previous Versions”. From there, select v2.6.91. We hope this solution works for you. The address starting 192** is your network address and will usually always remain the same.
The IP address starting 212** is your internet IP address.
