Jokic and Luka are pretty even to me, but yeah, you can't look past Luka, he has 2 games in just the last 30 days that rank in the top-20 all time in gamescore, and one of them is the 2nd highest ranked game ever. Luka is the only player in NBA history to have two games that rank in the top-10 all time in gamescore, and also the only player to have three games ranked in the top-20, and he's only 24 years old.

SGA and Luka finish 3 and 4. Tatum rounds out the top 5 as the best player on the best team.
You might as well stop talking about an MVP for Embiid now...after he misses this game tonight, he can only miss 5 more games until the end of the season to hit that 65 games. Not gonna happen.
You're absolutely spot on about the lack of media coverage surrounding SGA. The game against Spurs was a prime example. Thunder kicked Spurs' ass, mostly due to Shai dropping 32 and dishing out 10 assists in just three quarters. But everyone spent all their time talking about Wemby flexing on Chet and nobody even acknowledged the fact that Shai has now dropped 30+ points on 32 seperate occasions (33 after today) THIS SEASON.
Damn. Shai is killing it out there, and his team is winning, so it's not empty stats. I think people are just worried about what he will do in the playoffs, since he's never been in a playoffs run before, and we've seen time and time again how players put up great stats in the regular season then stink it up in the playoffs. And even though it's supposed to be regular season mvp, that playoff success does impact a player's chance at mvp. Look at embiid or giannis or jokic. When giannis won back to back mvps and then lost early in the playoffs, people didn't vote him at all the next year, which he then proceeded to win the championship, which put him back in those condos the next season.
The problem is simple. He's probably the most consistent player in the league, but that applies to his highs as well as his lows. He rarely has bad games, but he also rarely has very good games (by the standards he's set, anyway). He's averaged 31 PPG in back to back seasons and his career high is only 44. That's incredibly strange. What's that gonna mean come playoff time when he's not getting to the line as much? Or if they're in a dog fight where he has to raise his game to push them over the hump? Can he even do that? Because he has NEVER shown it.
@@morganlee2806 He's a KD type of scorer. His PPG is not just an average, it's EXACTLY what he scores every night. His career high is always going to look low for how good of a player he is. As for the free-throw thing, it's blown way out of proportions because of twitter trolls. He takes basically the same amount as other "star" calibre players. He plays elite defence, he shoots league-high percentages from mid-range, and he's the only guard in the league that scores as efficient as big men in the paint (he's top 10 in paint FG%, I believe). He also steps up against big teams, even tho it's in regular season. I don't have any doubts about him in the play-offs.
@@kaunghlyan6726 KD has several 50+ games, including 50 pieces in the playoffs. Shai has the same career high as Tyrese Haliburton, a pass first point guard.
Luka deserves it easily. He not only sets NBA records weekly but he actually facilitates the entire game he is double even triple teamed and still has the magic. He does complain a lot but I suspect that’s frustration. Kyrie has missed 14 games so Luka has been carrying this young team. Every coach does not want to face Luka in the playoffs. They are constantly trying to figure out how to cover him. He figures a team out and then you have to play him for up to 7 straight games. When other players on this list have won it already and a player Luka is playing at the level you give it to him. Embid won’t make it he will miss too many games. JOKIC doesn’t have a high enough pt per game avg. and Shay is way too low in rebounds and Assist
Where does this Kawhi better than KD Narrative come from? Y’all just discount all of KD’s Accolades, stats, and Longevity just because of one MVP. This also goes to people putting Giannis and Jokic over KD just because of a 5 year prime. The ring Merchant Casuals need to be stopped. Be real it’s not close, KD got 28,000 career points, way more accolades (All NBA, Allstar, scoring titles,) vs Kawhi who only has 13,000 career points. It’s like comparing Bill Walton to Karl Malone. Availability and Longevity does Matter when ranking All time players.
That because Prime+Peak > Longevity. Karl Malone and John Stockton gave one of the best longevity career. But no championship to show. Kawhi got his first ring abd FMVP in his 3rd year before his 1st DPOY. KD join GSW after losing to them. It will always count against. All the top 20 never did what KD did. Even Lebron never joins the team swept him the finals or conferebce. KD is the first player in NBA history to join the team that beat him. Its the Ultimate symbol of SUBMISSION.
Clearly Luka. Two games in the past month alone that rank in the top-20 all time in gamescore. Just in his last game alone he became the only player to have multiple games of at least 45 Points and 15 Assists, the other game was on Christmas day. I just hope Embiid doesn't miss too many games to be eligible.
Say what you want about KD if he didn’t have them warriors rings he probably would have 7 scoring tittles and maybe another mvp dude hates carrying though if you watch him enough you can see how frustrated he gets when his team isn’t up to his standard he’s a weird case even for example this year he got mad and the media called him out he went out there and got a triple double tying his career high in assists he has a crazy gear he just doesn’t turn on often he’s also on record telling teammates to take their shots not to worry about him he wants them getting in the flow because for him it doesn’t matter he’s a walking bucket whenever he wants doesn’t need to warm up into it
I really enjoy your content and you appear to be very knowledgeable on the sport and history of the league. But on no list is Kawhi above KD and never will even with a regular season MVP.
Think you're either underestimating the power of narrative or looking only at talent. The resumes (with an MVP) are similar. One tilted more to offense the other defense. I don't really think it's fair the Kawaii gets so much weight on a ring that has its own asterisk on it but I don't make the narrative.
@@DJ-uu3pz yeah I’m purely looking only at talent imo KD is the overall better player and will finish higher on the all time list when it’s all said and done. Leonard’s availability was his biggest “downfall” in my opinion but he’s been playing well lately so maybe he can start to turn that narrative around. But as far as that championship run, I don’t believe it has an asterisk I mean injuries are apart of the game after all. There’s been many players enjoyed through history that late in the season it’s just the nature of it.
@@dariusbrooks21 Maybe asterisk is a bit strong of a term. But not all championships will be weighted equally. Like, if that was a healthy dynastic warriors with KD, I think most would actually have Kawhi ahead considering he'd beat KD head to head in there prime at the biggest stage. Fact is he didn't and that ring is a little less valuable because of it. Still a great ring. I mostly agree though. Outside of certain journalists there wasn't really a time where Kawhi legit had claim to the best in the world (except Maybe 2019 off-season). Hence the lack of mvp. If he were to win one - especially now with the competition being what it is - he'd have elevated his play to the point that his case against KD would be arguable. Hence why I still say thinking he's an mvp away from Durant isn't that far of a stretch
Go check 2014 WCF vs OKC, Kawhi avg 11.8 pts, was inefficient and was the 6th leading scorer on his team. KD destroyed him but Spurs carried him to that Role player ring. Then got lucky in 2019 when KD was injured and then Klay game 6. No way 1 MVP puts “Mr Load Management” over KD all time. KD owns Kawhi; You casuals need to stop. 😂😂😂
Embid just a stat padder he came into this season wanting to get 30 10 statline for one purpose mvp while he dodges the games that are hard as soon as he hits 30 and 10 he goes and sits down
I really don't care much if Embiid wins another MVP and I don't think he will, we have seen he can perform well and historically in the regular season. He needs to prove his play-off performances never making it out of the 2nd round despite good teammates and always pushing the fault to the teammates ain't it. Jokic MVP would just be another collection to his resume but would definetly push him in the top 15 as the 6th greatest Center. And with a very likely Finals appearance he knocks on the door for top 5 Centers. I think it will also solidify him as a top 5 offensive player ever. SGA would prove he is up there among the best in the league, especially among the fans where I still see a lot of doubters. Giannis, who has gotten a lot of doubters over the last 2 seasons calling his ring and MVPs undeserved, would prove that he is still him and has that potential everyone said he had after his first ring. For his all time consideration I think it just strength his current position rather than giving him that push to knock on the door to top 10. I think if Luka wins MVP this year he ranks all-time above Embiid, despite being drafted 4 years after Embiid he only played half a season of games less, clears him in production and would have a similar if not better award resume. JT would prove his potentially and with a likely ring+FMVP prove to be the best player in the world. And start a dominating era for the Celtics. Sabonis would prove he is not just a knock-off Jokic and that he's the best player on the Kings, he would also show his fathers legacy. AD would silence the critiques for the constant fragility taunts. And he would prove that he is the best player in LA and finally publicly step out of the Shadow of Lebron, I don't think that would in anyway effect LeBrons legacy. Tyrese would show that he is the best pg in the east rn, and that you can lead a team purely with offense. It should also be a big boost for his career and mentality. Kawhi would prove that he is not finished and doesn't need load managment. It would also massively boost his all-time ranking, having achieved everything there is to achieve. Despite Embiid having historic numbers I think Jokic should win, given the amount of games Embiid misses, it is questionable if he will play enough games (65). I think if the Mavs start winning games Luka will win, but right now JT might have the best shots at winning looking at voter fatigue and the current Celtics record.
It would be cool to see Embiid win a ring after winning a second MVP, just for the storytelling aspect of it. That would mean Giannis, Jokic and Embiid all won two MVPs and then a ring. Not holding my breath though…
Jokic 1210/553/411 - (47 Games) Luka 1388/344/382 - (40 Games) Embiid 1187/377/191 - (33 Games) SGA 1438/258/294 - (46 Games) Tatum 1212/380/201 - (45 Games) Giannis 1394/525/278 - (45 Games) Jokic and Luka the best imo. Luka has a good argument.

Haha your take on Doncic winning a chip and not even being close to Dirk is LAUGHABLE! He’s better already! PERIOD!
How is curry not on here
Not in top 10
Joel is out I'd say, awesome season though. Other than Joel is gotta be jokers right??
Embiid or Shai deserve MVP
You might as well stop talking about an MVP for Embiid now...after he misses this game tonight, he can only miss 5 more games until the end of the season to hit that 65 games. Not gonna happen.
Giannis and Embiid are not European.
Damn I’m a thunder fan and didn’t even know about that stat. Thanks for sharing 👍
Jokic shouldve won last year. Regular and Finals MVP. He couldve cemented top 6 centers of all time by now
Cry
@@قرفصyes you should cry about embiid
Stats-wise Embiid was better on almost every stat but I agree
@@قرفصwhy do so many people put this dry, stupid response to someone just stating their opinions?
@@ThePrimeYeeter yea but embiid didn’t do good in the playoffs but Jokic won the chip so why didn’t Jokic win it
Luka deserves it easily.
Why does he underrate bill russell so much
Luka or Embiid for MVP
Clearly Embiid
Clearly Luka. Two games in the past month alone that rank in the top-20 all time in gamescore. Just in his last game alone he became the only player to have multiple games of at least 45 Points and 15 Assists, the other game was on Christmas day. I just hope Embiid doesn't miss too many games to be eligible.
Say what you want about KD if he didn’t have them warriors rings he probably would have 7 scoring tittles and maybe another mvp dude hates carrying though if you watch him enough you can see how frustrated he gets when his team isn’t up to his standard he’s a weird case even for example this year he got mad and the media called him out he went out there and got a triple double tying his career high in assists he has a crazy gear he just doesn’t turn on often he’s also on record telling teammates to take their shots not to worry about him he wants them getting in the flow because for him it doesn’t matter he’s a walking bucket whenever he wants doesn’t need to warm up into it
KD is a walking contrarian he wants to be in the convo but doesnt want carry the team. FoH.
Kobe is not a top 10 player all time.
Exactly. Finally someone gets it and says the truth.
He's easily Top 5
no.@@BLACKSTA361
@@BLACKSTA361y’all get on my nerves bro
Most have him top 5, he's borderline top 10 for me. There were a lot of great things about Kobe, but I'm taxing him for chucking up so many bad shots.
@@DJ-uu3pzKD clears Kawhi. Facts over Narratives. 💯
Joel won't win, unfotunately, because of that stupid minimum games rule.
Kawhi Leonard is already better than Kevin Durant.
Casual. KD been Superstar since 2010, before Kawhi was drafted and was role player for Spurs for 4 years and then load managed his whole career.
@@mikeg8234people jus hate kd so they’ll always put less skilled n accomplished players over him
I love Jayson Tatum. :)
Hey @Rebound Rewind I think a great idea for a video you can make is the greatest player to come out of every competing European country!
😂🤣
Pat actually went to multiple conference finals and 2 finals. Embiid and Robinson(yea) are worse all time than Pat.
Great video!
SGA MVP
AD is a Center
I hope he never does. He’s not championship caliber
