Hey Jackie, for the future when you’re using molds and arent sure about the measurement, try filling them with water and dumping them out into a measuring cup to get a semi-accurate volume measurement. That’ll help prevent under-mixing.

Special Effects Makeup Artist here! You have to use a mold release unless you are using a silicone mother mold. (Rule of thumb is only silicones can not stick to itself, everything else can stick.) Go to smooth-on's website and click on their buy tab. There should be a category for releases. Releases come in brush-on liquids or spray. Be careful and make sure you buy a release that is compatible with rubber or resin. If not it will not work for that specific squishy product. (Easy Release 200 is my personal fav)They also have info on how to use it/cure time ect. Love your content! Hope this helps 🖤

Since it’s a squishy gel resin, I don’t think they have that? I think maybe if she used a silicone mold it could’ve worked better?

It might be easier to understand Celsius if you keep these three things in mind; 0 is when water freezes, 37 is about average human body temperature and 100 is when water boils. Might not be able to know exactly what the conversion is, but it should help to know what is hot and what is cold in Celsius.
My science teacher said that we use 'Celsius' and y'all Americans use 'Fahrenheit' lmao 👁👄👁

Hey Jackie, I've used S&T's squishy gel quite a bit and there's some things about it that are...odd.
- It only seem to like silicone molds...all the pieces I've made in silicone molds come out fine -others, not so much.
It does work. I think it only really likes the silicone though.
-I also find to easier to get them out in one piece by coating them with baby powder (cornstarch also works) before you unmold them. Coat the whole top portion and then slowly work the sides out.
- It does not like big/chunky glitter. They will all sink to the bottom. The small fine glitter seems to be okay though as long as you don't overdo it.
It's a density issue. If what you're adding to the gel sinks if you let it sit for a while then it'll clump at the bottom of the mold & can ruin the piece. (You can always test this with a little gel before hand).
-Oh and you really need to mix it well and for a while. (I think they recommend 5 minutes) If it's not mixed fully or for long enough, I found my pieces are much more sticky and easier to tear when unmolding.

When making gummies it is very important to use mold release. Otherwise it will just become poop.

What really helped me (I also had so much trouble with this gel, when I got my elves box) Was using mold release and using an exact scale. Also pouring a colored first layer with no glitter (glitter = tearing) And then doing SUPER THIN layers with glitter afterwords, I takes SO LONG but that’s how I got the best results
When you were unmolding the pyramid, I actually said, "Jell-O is better than that." And then you agreed with me a few minutes later! Yay! Such brainy grains!
To be honnest I've noticed even when Jackie is trying to look grumpy. She usually has a smile behind the sulk.

My favorite one was the panda light! Maybe try using the UV gummy resin next time, and I don't know if its possible but maybe you could mix the epoxy and UV resins so that its squishy and still easy to takeout of the mold and handel.

I'm not sure how likely this is to get read because, as usual, I am late to the party. Worth a try though? I did a lot of casting at uni, so here are couple of points that might help in future?
-The larger the piece of resin the more heat it will produce. Different brands of resin kick out different amounts of heat, and clear resin is usually the hottest.
-Therefore you should never put uncured resin in the bin. Even if it's in a container. We had more fires started that way in the workshop than any other way.
-Hard edges on a vac former are really difficult. The smoother your item the more success you'll have. They don't like corners.
-Vac form plastic will always stick to your resin. You need to use a mould release before you pour. Either a powder or a spray release will help it let go.
And as an additional point, you calling that vac former 'heavy duty' is ADORABLE. That's straight up the smallest one I've ever seen 😂 I love it!

You should totally do a trouble shooting video for common things that can happen to polymer clay in the creating process and how to fix it. The insight into why the clay cracked actually helped my friend.
Even just a resin lamp would be really cool to see! Making your own molds and using normal resin. That would be great! You can do a salt shaker lamp!!!

Jacky please be careful with the UV-Resin fumes! I know you're an adult and make your own decisions but fume masks are so important when working with resin. Even just a quick disclaimer so younger crafters know that you need to be cautious when working with it would maybe be a good addition to your videos :)
Hey Jackie, you could grease the plastic before pouring the resin in the mold
