      Yes, definitely 30, 50, 80. For our trip 50 was the go to set up with a 120 gram Colt Sniper. 80 for bigger jigs 200 gram knife jigs. Get ready to do a lot of jigging. I saw they got big ones on the last trip. 130-170 lbs. Good luck and thanks for watching!

      My new rod that was acid or spiral wrapped. It’s supposed to be easier to fight fish since you’re not fighting to keep the rod upright. Although I haven’t got anything big on it yet. Thanks for watching!

    Love the spiral-wrapped 1-piece bait rod. Mine is paired up with an Accurate for albacore. I'd love to come down to SD and do an off-shore charter for big yellow and blues. Awesome stuff. I've only got some live anchovie bites and swim bait bites up on albies on my channel.

      They’re nice handling rods, although I haven’t caught anything big on it yet. It’s actually a two piece at the grip. Jigging World Ghost Hunter 100gram Popping Rod. I had it custom made conventional from Tackle World. I got it as a travel rod to take to Mexico. Oh man I miss albies. I haven’t caught one in decades. Thanks for watching!

      @@fishermen22 I know this is an old video, but curious as to why you used the Ghost Hunter Popping rod as conventional and how it's working out. I'm asking cause I want to wrap the same blank as a conventional due to two piece construction for portability, which is important for me.

    • @fishermen22
      @fishermen22  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bpark3538 I love that rod, it's my favorite conventional rod. I needed a two piece boat rod for México. Jigging World or Tackleworld used to make a conventional Ghost Hunter 7.5 ft spiral wrapped rod but they discontinued them. I called Tackleworld about it, and they said they can custom built one for me instead. I built it like the stock spinning rods, but with a Fuji trigger reel seat and spiral wrapped. From now on, I'm going to order all my conventional rods like that. I'll try to make a video about it. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

      I didn’t catch anything. Yes, I killed a few sardines, but we also released hundreds in contrast. If I did catch one, then that fish would have served many people. I don’t waste a thing.
      This fishery is tightly regulated and is sustainable. We only have a two fish limit and I haven’t killed a bluefin in years my friend. If it wasn’t sustainable, then the Department of Fish and Game would definitely pose more restrictions on the fishery similar to the east coast. The DFG is fully aware of the situation so don’t worry. Thanks for watching!

    I honestly don't get how people can just fish Bluefin Tuna knowing it's so endangered. So irresponsible of people to overfish/overhunt animals until endangerment and sometimes extinction.

    • @fishermen22
      @fishermen22  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you haven’t been, then you’re really missing out. It is all regulated with fish and game. There’s a two fish limit in contrast to before. Rod and reel fishing is completely sustainable. So far, we haven’t seen a reduction in population and it’s been over 5 years since bluefin have made a comeback. If it was a problem, don’t you think Sea Shepherd would be here protesting? Sportfishing is a far cry from commercial fishing. Especially if you look down south to other countries who have no regulations at all. Thanks for watching.

    • @reason7123
      @reason7123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ignorant statement. Sportfishing tuna in the US compared to Japan's commercial fishery is like thinking saving water while brushing your teeth will have any real impact on the drought and water conservation.
