How I used the Japanese Text Analysis Tool & subs2srs (+Share X) to create 11,000+ Japanese cards in Anki automatically: th-cam.com/video/TMi0ehYC7fE/w-d-xo.html
I use pre made Anki decks, N5 vocabulary and "basic 2000 core" ... so far I am really satisfied and am using it as primary way of learning Japanese. ☺️
In the beginning, premade Anki decks are really the way to go. Gotta build that core vocab and grammar before you can start mining words and sentences yourself.
By the way, remember that time in Anki is NOT time in Immersion. In the beginning, it's more worth spending time in Anki I think (I explained my reasoning in the 1 year Japanese video). But after you build enough vocab & grammar to be able to understand a few more things, it's time to spend less time in Anki and more time Immersing in pure Japanese content. Anki is kind of a trap in this way since it's easy to think that you're making crazy progress when you see the stats numbers going up, but in reality, things will really start to click when immersing and you won't know it until you do :P
I was expecting a Naruto theme at the beginning of this video! Hahaha! Great video, informative and valuable information. Keep up the good work and I'll be trying out these apps!
I'm confused about just one thing, I understood how to use JTAT and subs2srs separately, But I didn't understand how to use them together, as far as I was able to understand S2S converts every line of the anime possible into a spreadsheet, but then how do I choose just the ones I wanted (i.e High freq in JTAT)
@@PulkitSingh Use S2S to build a repository of sentences, JTAT to get the frequency list. Go through the list and filter off unnecessary words (and put those in a list so you can put those as the filter next time). . Then, when learning words from the frequency list, search that word in Anki to find the appropriate sentence. . The next video will be about creating and using "Repositories" just like this
Anime is simply one of the most supported resources as there are easily available subtitle files which can go alongside the native speaker audio. None of the tools in this video are Anime specific though, there are other frequency lists you can find that are not anime specific, and the frequency list can run on any subtitle file. 😎
