You need a shop kitty! A cat to keep the snakes and mice in check. All you have to do is feed them inside the tool room and give them a nice warm place to sleep and i promise you, you wont see another snake. Lock them in the shop at night for a few weeks to establish their home. Keep their litter box clean and theyll take care of your shop! Around here we call them barn cats, theyre the best and coolest way to get rid of unwanted critters

The ears were bent in on your drive shaft and yolk from pressing the old u-joints out. When I went to tech school for GM, they actually told us to never press joints out. They have a different tool to beat the opposite yolk downward to force the caps out. Drive shaft and yolk ears can be bent easier than you think. Most of the time, once you press the joints out, if you lay the inside of the yolk on the edge of your vise, and give the outside edge just under the ear a smack, it will bend the ear right back to where it should be. Your u-joint will go in nice and the clips will go in just like they are supposed to. You did well to sand the u-joint holes in the yolks, but you also need to make sure to dig the clip grooves out completely with a pick.

The vacuum bleeder in my experience have always been pretty finicky on new masters or new lines. You generally always want to bench, bleed the master, and do the initial pedal, bleed and then vacuum bleeding goes a lot easier.

Same rear 3:07 gears I had in my 1981 blacked out black Chevy step-side truck that I lowered really low would pull my blown and injected BBC Cole runner bottom drag boat thru the desert at 95 mph all the way to the river at Parker Arizona from Buena Park Ca. Also had a 55 gallon barrel of race fuel in the bed and the top to my tool box and rode awesome the whole way. It was so low you could not get your hand under the frame cross member under the trucks oil pan when it was sitting. Thanks Puddin for all your hard work and great videos. Love your merch too.

Your snake battle was funny as hell 🤣 I was cutting a lawn with a zero turn mower years ago when a snake started biting at my leg, chasing me around with me trying to control the mower and I lost control and ran it over. Had animal control come and look at it and it turns out it was a brown rattle snake, at the time I didn't know they existed in New England. I was never afraid of snakes but now I'm a little leery. Anyway I grew up working on square bodies and absolutely love them. You're doing an awesome job resurrecting that truck. Yeah there is always problems but you overcame them and built a cool truck. Great video as always 👍✌️🇺🇲

Yup, it's the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake. We got them everywhere here in PA. Copperheads too. Rattlesnakes usually slither away because they'd rather not bother with you, but Copperheads are temperamental and they're very aggressive, they like to fight. I was but by one two years ago and I felt like absolute garbage, had to go to the ER because they're very poisonous. Got me right on the arm really deep.

Epic! I had a friend that went through the Spicer school (that's the good brand, btw)... he just used a big hammer and hammered the crap out of the thing. You beat on the cast parts, not on the joint or the shaft. Use the vise as a spreader to hold while you beat the yoke down... carrying the end cap with it... then flip the thing and beat it through the other way. Big-ass hammer does it. Final thing is to beat the caps against the clips to get that freed up.

Not saying you wouldn’t still cause you do what you have to, well that and “Momma didn’t raise no punk” so you ain’t afraid to either! I love that new shop! 😉✌🏼

Just be glad you don't work on driveshafts every day. Did it for 2 years straight during my automotive career.
Pro tip: a cold chisel can be your friend while replacing ujoints; mainly for popping the old clips out, but also for seating the new clips. It doesn't have to be razor sharp, or even close to that. It just needs to have a good edge on it. You'll figure out the best ways to hit it to pop those clips out with one whack.
If I remember right, and it's been more than a minute, I used to use a fairly big one. Like most tools I bought off the tool trucks, I bought single items that I needed. I gave away a lot of tools after I retired, but I'm pretty sure I still have that one.
What I'm saying is: get a good quality chisel.

Maybe take a fuel line hose and cut it length wise and wrap that brake hose and zip tie it to stay on. Best fabrication youtube ever...

You can use a steering shaft from a jeep xj.
Gets rid of the old rag joint.
Replaces it with a slop free u-joint.

Seems you are starting the Moss gold truck mafia. Up north in New England we get way more rust so every thing is a struggle, great content have Happy Thanksgiving. ❤

I like seeing you work on the c ten. Looks like it's a good education for you also. As you know they're super popular. Get you another one if you Trip over another one.

Puddin, We had a snake in a tool box making noise and it was a copperhead.. I don't play with snakes either.. the fruit they offer messed us all up. Love the truck even though it is a Chevy!

My project cars are early vw polos (yes, smaller than the rabbit/golf) and the size of the parts you pull of to work on with one of these American icons always gets me!

Another Keigger tip of the day.....slide the steel spacer over an old 5/8" U bolt, tack weld one end of the spacer to the U bolt and mount it up in the evolution saw and cut thru everything.....just my 2¢....Cary on sir!👍
