Rem...this movie was made in 1992. No other movie had an all blk cast, with A list black actors, being released into nationwide theaters. All the tropes was know of today, in modern black cinema, where introduced with this movie. Eddie caught alot of backlash from msm over this movie, too. It was thr first of its kind. The 90s were so pro 'our' ppl, for the first time EVER in msm. And the soundtrack was all over the radio. Truly a time to be alive. Plz do this justice lbvs. Love ur channel btw. Keep living ur dream
@@Amaya-qx6buAll black cast, black owned beauty company in the movie with all-black executives. White movie critics actually said it WASN'T REALISTIC to have a black owned major corporate beauty company in real life
@Amaya-qx6bu they said it wasn't realistic to have that many bl@ck successful people in one place and Eddie lived in a world almost devoid of yt people
I’m trying to figure where all of you are getting your info from. A handful of critics had issues. A few said reverse racism to which eddie did an interview to defend and one interviewer at that time wasn’t aware there were a lot of successful black companies at that time. I don’t really consider that backlash as most ppl genuinely liked the film and I definitely don’t remember any critic saying it wasn’t realistic to have that many black owned beauty companies. That definitely would’ve made major news and that critic would’ve been fired from real backlash which is a lot of ppl wanting him/her gone. I was 27 when this movie came out and I definitely would’ve remembered that. I think you guys are twisting the stories just a bit but if you prove me wrong then you got my apologies in advance
@demetriusreynolds8178 Oh no, a number of critics were DEFINITIVELY claiming that Boomerang was "unrealistic" because it featured so many upper middle class Black people in corporate America instead poor Black criminals in the hood. I remember it well, and Eddie spoke about one in particular himself on "The Tonight Show." th-cam.com/video/s7zn-RO4ueM/w-d-xo.html
I did not like Eddie in this movie 😂😂 Eartha Kitt & Grace Jones were great! Marcus didn’t like women who could match his energy! 😂🤣 Jacqueline had him panting like a dog! 😂
Wondering SLK , remember in the movie why did I get married when they were in the store shopping for clothes and the white lady came up and said “we don’t keep cash the store “that was a reference originated from this movie😂 the scene where the three guys were in the suit shop and the man came up and said the same thing😂
SL, it's well if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black. 😂Gerard was actually the kind of friend Marcus needed. He always called him out on his BS. He was mad about Angela because she's genuinely a good person. He knew Marcus wasn't gonna do right by her. He didn't think she deserved to be hurt by him. You called Jacqueline a thot when she wasn't doing anything differently than what Marcus was always doing to women. Lol

I hate you kept referring to Eddie Murphy as "Me", as if you were him in the movie. That and 38:23 is hilarious
Boy you funny.
