Shiny Totodile after 8,007 resets in Crystal!

a new quest has begun! because i don't already have enough of them on the go lol. really enjoyed this hunt and i'm excited to get the quest underway. the gen 2 nostalgia is hitting hard already. hope you enjoy :)

Female starters can’t be shiny that may help, if you go into the name your Pokémon screen you can check the gender.

Love totodiles shiny and it looks sooo good in gen 2. I've been on and off hunting totodile in hgss for years and years now and I've gotten 3 straight chikorita and 1 cyndaquil

The reset before the shiny you didn’t even check it yet you reset over it, that could’ve been the shiny one and you wouldn’t even have known

good catch but i reset over it on purpose - i didn't explain this in the video but in gen 2, shininess is determined by the stats of the pokemon, so if the totodile has 21 HP (rather than 20 HP) it can't be shiny. that totodile had 21 HP which is why i didn't check it. no missed shinies over here dw 😎
