Thank you Leigh for your comment and yes I am having fun with my Genos and am enjoying the You tube vidio's that you are displaying, very informative. Ron Kendall
Goose bumps! Inspiring. I'll spend the rest of today trying to emulate you on my Genos thanks to your videos which are a joy to watch and listen to. Yes, more please.
That's great playing Leigh, super demo of those free styles. I remember you from a visit you made to my Spectra ... a few years ago. Brett Wales and yourself are icons.
I really enjoyed this and would love to watch you go through more packs, as a fellow Genos owner I've watched most of your uploads and have found them invaluable and have learned a lot in the process. Thank you and I appreciate the effort you go to keep it interesting.
Hi Leigh, long time no chat. Hope you are keeping well. I couldn't help thinking of poor Raquel in Fools & Horses, where the guy was singing cwying over you, where you played the last part. Sounds like a good expansion, I'll give it a go. The iPadPro is still going well BTY. Take care mate, Dave.
Hi Leigh! Halleluhjah, this week I'll be able to trade-in my Tyros 5 for a second hand Genos from a dealer. Could not be happier, never realized it will be that much of an upgrade. One question from seeing this video: what is the chord recognition type you use for left hand? I can see that you can change the root bass in your style by variating the way you play the chord. Cannot find the proper word, it's chord invertions I guess. It sounds like a great way to manipulate bass loops.
Leigh, as I've said in other comments to your videos, I'm looking to upgrade my keyboard, and while I would like to buy a Genos, my money will most likely go to the PA5X, since I'm already using Korg. However, I'd like to see a demonstration of the Ballroom Pack, or the Entertainer 2016 pack, the Latin pack, and after your comments a few days ago about the female voices, want to try to SA2 Female Voice pack? 🤣😂😛😋
Hi Gary. If you want to get a 5x - then I say go for it. But bear in mind there’s minimal content for it once you’ve got it. The 5x is good for the money but there’s minimal extra content and when I had mine there was no multitrack recorder and a lot of features were missing. Not sure how it is now as I didn’t hang around to see. It’s personal preference at the end of the day.
@@LeighWilbraham By the way, when I originally posted this, I hadn't seen the Expansion Pack 2016 you had uploaded a week ago, I just watched that. I have seen a resource online for styles for Arranger keyboards. I'm not sure, but I THINK you can upload styles from older Korg keyboards to the PA5X. You may need to revoice them, which makes it a bit harder. I saw an online library of a variety of styles, primarily for specific songs, and the earlier Korgs were well represented. Best choice, if I could do it, would be to buy both, but I don't have that kind of money right now. 🥰
@@LeighWilbraham I did find one here for $4,500USD, used with speakers and stand, and I would say that was a very good deal. Right now, I am not in a position to buy ANY keyboard, although after June that might change. I am familiar with the Korg OS and layout, although the PA5X is a radical departure. I really would like the opportunity to sit down with both keyboards and play them side by side, but here in the U.S., unfortunately, music isn't like it is in the U.K. and much of Europe. In our local Guitar Center, while I could order both, the best arranger they had in there was a Yamaha PSR-SX700. They didn't even a 900, or even a Korg PA1000. (or even a 700, for that matter). They had some of the PRS -E473 and predecessors, and a DGX-670 keyboard(s), but really nothing more than those. Unlike places like Bonners or Rimmers in the UK, you just don't find places like that here in the U.S., and furthermore, you don't find the demand. In the UK, people play instruments, the schools still promote music education. Not here. Everyone prefers to walk around with their phone and ear buds for music, no making it themselves. Sad, truly. So, the music stores carry what they sell, which is usually synths and some digital pianos, but limited in scope. If you want to buy something, you're going to be doing it online, and listening to online demos and a very few comparisons.
th-cam.com/video/f2M1begz-ds/w-d-xo.html One thing that I do like about the Korg that the Yamaha does not do is the, IMHO, much better Leslie emulation. At 3:30 in the above video, check out the speed of the Leslie emulation between the two. The Genos just goes from slow to fast immediately, whereas the Korg (and this has been the standard since before my ancient PA800) ramps up and ramps down, just like a real Leslie does, and you can also change that speed if you like. I do wish that they had run the outputs of both keyboards through a mixer and then into the video camera to get a better mix and match. Of course, you HAVE had both in your studio, and you have had the opportunity to test both, so I do value your opinion.
If I download this pack how do I install it into my Genos. I already have packs installed when I bought the keyboard, so how do I add this one ? Help would be welcome thanks 👍
If you have packs already installed then I would suggest you re-download them as when you install this pack it will wipe you’re existing voices!! You need to source the packs that you want.

Thanks Leigh .. iam a vocalist keyboard , I went from yamaha professionally years ago because the vocal section went very boxy. But looking to change this year and I must admit the styles of yamaha sound more musical . I just hope the new Genos keyboard has 88 weighted like the Korg. 🤞I’ve also heard the yamaha dosnt play well live through a pro pa as the Korg?? Also how do the pianos compare ? Thanks L.
@@kenColtas-pg7nr I use my Genos with EV Evolve50 speakers and it’s stunning. The grand pianos are lovely and have controls to make them brighter or mellow. Thanks for taking the time Leigh . Glad to hear it is still alive and kicking through a decent pa I have QSC 10inch. The new Genos should hit the 5x out of the park then! Keep up the good work! I’m sure your followers appreciate all you do. X

I'm really liking your content with the new genos 2 and the older work as well.

Hey Ron, who cares. As long as you’re having fun and enjoy playing that’s all that matters.
Glad to see you have the pack installed.
