Next time your in the South of France try Aigues-Mortes (a not so well known gem). Cassiss, Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert & Navacelles would not be out of place on this list
I would add Narbonne and Nîmes and the beautiful town of Saint Antonin Noble Val located on the banks of the Aveyron. Although not a large as Marseille, Narbonne and Nîmes are historically important because of their location on the main Roman road (Via Domitia) connecting Rome to Spain. Nîmes has many Roman monuments, including the Roman Arena, said to be one of the best preserved outside Rome.
@@stephengraham1153please stop sharing because your towns and villages will end up like Gordes and Roussillion, etc. Your houseprices mand rents will skyrocket and everything will get motre expensive for struggling locals.
@@picholoup These and many, many other towns and villages are already covered by numerous videos throughout France, Europe and dare I say the rest of the world. So what do you suggest? Removing any mention of these places from all books, films, magazine articles and YT videos? Reading about a place doesn't mean that people are going to be inclined to visit. And if I stay in any of these types of places I do so where I'm sharing accommodation with the host so that the local community benefits. Not some international hotel chain or someone who owns a string of AirBnBs.
Pretty photo video of street signs, palm trees, and pigeons do not visually illustrate a place. They are like food that is beautiful but lacks flavour, good solid ingredients, or substance. The warning about 5000 cruise tourists a day in Eze is very appreciated. Lovely town I will see off season, if at all.
Gordes? Are you kidding me. Sure it's beautyfull, but only from october to february. For the rest of the time you get trampled to death by tourists. Same for all the villages you mentionned. There are plenty of other locations in southern france. Carcassonne is nice at thetime I mentioned. Please don't go anytime in the spring, summer and early autumn to get a feel of the atmosphere.
Nicd is beautiful, but the beach was rocky, not sandy, which greatly bothers me! Because it was a famous tourist spot, many pickpockets! Even rober you during the daytime. The paradise with high crime! What a shame! 🤨🙄
What about all the beautyfull villages in south west france? Oh, better not talk about them. Otherwise they will get as horribly overcrowded as all the villages talked about in this video, which destroyes all illusion of romantic charme!
Hey folks ! Try some of these villages instead of St Tropez or Cannes this summer or you can brave the crowds and hustle for a seat at a restaurant 😅

When god made France so the rest of the world where not jealous he also invented the French.
😂😂😂
What happened to Antibes mentioned in the blurb........
Awesome video, Is the population correct with “k” being 1000. For ex. Town Menton - 30,400K = 30,400,000. Thats 30.4 million people.
K is thousands yes
😀👍👍👍

It’s my dream to retire in France. 30 years to go.
Wao
Population figures make no sense at all... Example: Roussillon... 8700K = 8,7 million people!?!?!? Real population is like 1335 people or 1,3K.
So this is where The Witcher 3 gets its ideas
Inaccurate info!
NO WATER 4 two years

Terrible video …facts are inaccurate (population numbers ?) and the verbal descriptions are off …Carcasonne is not a hilltop town.
You have no idea
