    Before starting hosting biz, learning to do it for myself first... should I use word press or other for website creation and design? Also should I start with regular hosting while learning to create websites then upgrade to reseller plan when ready?

    Thanks for this video, I want to ask. Is it possible when a client orders, the system will automatically create a client cpanel account, without creating it manually as you show on video? and a2hosting have automatic billing? Thanks buddy!

      You can. You get WHMCS with it, which is for managing clients and hosting accounts. Your clients can login and manage their services using it.

    Nice Video! Thanks Bryce, really appreciate. Regarding the location of the server, you should consider also the legal issues. For example, since I do work sometimes with German insitutional clients, they won't allow to host their webpage outside Germany. Kind of makes sense.

    You did help me a lot, Bryce. But I do have a doubt, what if my clients have a basic website? Will I have to help them set up a better website? Cause I don't really see how me hosting their sites affects the overall outlook of it. If you could please clarify it for me I would be really grateful.

      The reason you would get someone to switch hosting over to you is because you would offer something they aren't getting . Like a better price. obviously building a website for someone would be for those who know how do build websites.

      If you can’t sell your company to a customer then you don’t need to be in sales. I tell every sales person that. You have to sell your company. And I would start with customer service.

      He said in another comment on an older video he’s never met someone with a website but no hosting if they’re savey enough to build the website they’ll get the hosting. He is simply thinking backwards if someone needs a website built and they pay or you do it for free they still need someone to run it and host it so instead of them YouTubing it themselves you do it for them

    Whats the incentive for clients to get hosting from resellers instead of directly from the host? Are there additional services?

      Not necessarily. It’s more for the customer service. And my server is infinitely more quick than BlueHost or Hostgator.

    I have a question, really hope you or someone can get back to me on this.. Why would a client choose you for a web hosting service instead of going to a prominent web hosting service provider?

      Personalized service. They can call me up directly rather than being directed to a call center in India. Lots of times, customers don't even know what they need or the terminology. I can help decipher that much easier.

      Yes you can host magneto, but I don’t believe A2 can offer support for that.

      Easy. They send me an email, and then I fix it? How else would I go about it? That’s my target clientele - completely non-technical people. I get paid to manage everything from start to finish, because they don’t know how to (nor do they want to.)

      @@BryceMatheson it doesn't make sense, how in the world do you have enough time to reply to all 50-100 or whatever clients you host, and fix their WordPress\drupal\whatever issues? It'll be a full time job..I don't get it.. is the support you provide them limited in scope, do they understand what you can and what you cannot do for them?

      I find dealing with clients the most scary part of any passive income strategy and most time consuming. People are nasty by nature 🙂

      @@babyfox205 Sounds to me like you’ve had a terrible experience in the past. Never ever have I had all 100 clients reach out to me at once. Very rarely does even one client reach out. Once the website is finished, it’s smooth sailing. As long as websites don’t go down, clients are happy. And I’ve never had a website go down.

      It will likely be easier if you're already a web designer or developer, but absolutely not required.

      @@Coolguy-do9dw I’ve had a lot of students have success with advertising. For your first clients I recommend starting small, and using family and friends. Get the hang of it first before you start hosting websites for actual clients.

    In depth inquiry: Do I need any permit or license to run web hosting company of my own, since it is a form of business too? Currently, I reside at United Arab Emirates and my wife resides at Michigan.
    Unfortunately, here in UAE, I have to get a business/professional license to do an online startup. I would like to know what are the legal restrictions or regulations from your perspective at US?

      At least here in the US, we don’t have to have any sort of formal licensure. I’m not so sure how it works where you live though, unfortunately.

      Yes I totally agree. After lots of frustration with cloudways, I moved to bluehost and I have never looked back ever since. At least in my opinion, they are really customer friendly and do everything to keep their customers happy. From my experience, their $3.95/month plan is more than enough to start with

    You've had this income stream for several months? Where is the scalability of this? I don't think I'd be able to handle more than 80 clients myself.

      Not just a few months. Several years. And if you do it right, it’s incredibly simple. I feel like I could easily take on 500-1000 clients part time. And I mean, that. I rarely spend more than 30 minutes per month managing it all. Very passive.

    I was wondering how you offer your clients SSL certificates and how much those cost?

      They have access to Cpanel, they could setup their own SSL. Or you could always offer a "premium" SSL.
      I would do a one-time fee, people like convenience but not enough for a subscription.

      Blesta is a way to automate customer signups and billing. I've never used Blesta, because WHMCS is the industry standard.

      I don't understand why he would utilize or vote and expensive service when it seems to have significantly cheaper and comparable services available for significantly lower costs. LInode AWS hostinger and the significant variety of others.
      I don't believe it to be a lack of awareness.
      If it is not a lack of awareness then we have to explore other potential frames of thought. If we assume we've established that the other options are indeed significantly lower in costs and do provide equal services we have excluded everything I can think of except providing a cost comparison to his service.
      And so we have arrived at advertisement for his business.
      Would anybody else like to put forward a different perspective or frame for thinking about it?
