    Hey Bryce, thanks for the video, I found it super useful for my own gig I’m doing, you’ve also encouraged me to start offering hosting solutions. I’m relatively new to the game, worked with 2 clients now and I have a question to do with workflow....you say it takes you 8-10hrs to build most sites. I’m wondering how you do that as I have a lot of difficulty handling the “back and forth” with the client. When it comes to copywriting, do you make them write their own text? Even sometimes the simplest instruction in terms of what to write, a client doesn’t always listen, and doesn’t think at all about how it will look on the page. If they choose a theme, say it’s image heavy but the client doesn’t have many images or any good quality for their business, yeah I can pick a few and use but it’s all the back and forth of customising to their liking. Like how do you go through the process of fonts, colours etc. I tend to pick/stick to the theme and what I’m thinking they’re after but the client seems to always change their mind or want this bit of text editing or I have no copy for their about and give them direction to write and it’s just this whole process that takes the time, not the actually build of the site itself. Would be amazing if you could make a video explaining how you work through that? I’m considering even maybe making basic worksheets where they have to write copy for an about or etc but doesn’t always apply to all types of sites. Anyway, thanks for all the content your channel has really helped me! Appreciate it! ☺️

    Hi Bryce, I’m actually a developer, I’ve always been against Wordpress, just saw it as cheating, but watching your video kinda making me think why not, I was working for a website design company so never dealt with the costs and financial side of it, I’ve started my own large format printing business but still build my own websites mainly for fun tbh, but would maybe do Wordpress for another income alongside my main game…
    I’ve not much experience dealing with clients I was only passed details of edits and ideas, but it puts me off as some clients I’m can be really hard to please, and constantly changing their minds, how do you deal with that?
    Also do you take a deposit from them before you start, if so how much?
    Cheers Bryce

    Great content. How do you handle SEO questions? Do you incorporate any on the sites you build? I know SEO is its own separate beast but from my experience people believe that by just building a site automatically their site will show up on Google when looking up their location, trade or industry on search engines. I’m a newbie on SEO so I’m just looking at getting them started with a site but not be attached doing their SEO.
    Thanks in advance

    • @BryceMatheson
      @BryceMatheson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I think the biggest thing is education -- I tell clients that I do BASIC (very basic) SEO, but that's about it. Like you mentioned, people think that SEO is just something that can be done once, and then they'll magically show up on the front page of Google. Not the case. It's an on-going, continual process. I don't include any SEO services when I build a site, because it just isn't worth my time. Instead, I tell them they can hire someone else to refine the site once I've completed it.

    Are you filling in the actual content for the wordpress websites as well? Like putting in the actual text and things for each page, or you're just building the infrastructure and letting the client fill in the information? I have like zero experience with building websites. Also, do you think charging 800 dollars for my first client after i've built a few websites for free is a good starting point? Or is 800 dollars something I should work my way up to? This sounds like an amazing side hustle.

    I've been getting more and more interested in creating passive income. How long would you estimate it might take someone who is pretty darn tech illiterate (I exploited a loophole in high school and never took a single computer class) to get to the point that they could build a decent website and actually charge for it? Are we talking weeks, months, years?

    • @BryceMatheson
      @BryceMatheson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      To build one single website? Easy. If you’re that tech savvy, I bet you could have a website done in 10 hours worth of work. And then sell a hosting package with it. That way you get the income from the initial build, and then the residual passive income to follow.

    Nice video, thanks! I struggle to see how a half decent website can be made regularly in 8 to 10 hours though. Just from experience there would be revisions needed by the customer, emails back and forth getting down to what they really want on their website. Trying out different images, chasing the customer up for images or copy that they haven’t supplied, or simply there is something you’ve done that they don’t like, and they want changed. Does this sound common, or is it just me? Thanks!

    • @BryceMatheson

    I went to that WordPress website thing in your description and looked at the themes. Seems that WordPress is confusing as all hell, brother. How did you choose the right ones in the beginning for clients without any experience with WordPress? Each one costs money so what if you choose the wrong one...you would be SOL.

    • @BryceMatheson
      @BryceMatheson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whenever you pay for a theme, you get support from the developer. So if you have any issues, you can reach out to them and they can help you out pretty easily. But again, that's why I mention that you start out doing this for friends and family FIRST, before you start offering this to clients. You really want to make sure you know what you're doing beforehand.

    Hello bryce, what do you think about reselling the services they offer at fiverr?

    • @BryceMatheson
      @BryceMatheson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's a GREAT idea. I've never done it, but I've heard of drop servicing businesses before, and they seem to do well.

      @@BryceMatheson Well, I sincerely intend to create a hosting company and offer fivverr services to attract customers and offer them a good price, service and delivery time to people who do not know English. Your videos have served me well to continue developing the idea, thank you friend.

    Wow. Some people on yt make me mad with their super low quality content. Man, looks like you absolutely dont know what are you talking about.
    1. 800 for a simple 5 page website and 1200 for a website with pictures and crispy look. what? Do you make that crispy look buy using a better template? Does your 800 website has no pictures and no design so its just lines of letters? Does not make sense
    2. Adding a payment methods, creating a product list or anything with stock, payments, reservation is adding exponentially more work. It can take 2 weeks minimum to make a fully working designed page. Communication with client is a loong process to set things correctly. Meanwhile you said it takes just a bit of extra work.
    It seems that this person is just blabber and has no insight how things work

      Funny he didnt reply to you because he knows your right, he talked a lotta crap and he chargin ridiculous amount of money, normal person would go to godaddy for only $200, hes another pyramid scheme ass

      Exactly. The worst part is he's practically stealing from both the theme developer and the client. Useless middle man.

      I just screenshotted all of your comments and showed it to my friend who charges $10,000 USD for websites that have zero custom code in them

    With all the competition out there, I highly doubt that you will be able to make $150 p/h

    • @BryceMatheson

      Think what you want. Less competition for me. But I’m making $150+/hr consistently by doing this.

      @william_SMMA 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      People charge $10,000 - $20,000 websites that don't even have custom code in them
      That's more like $1,000 an hour
