    Thank you SO MUCH for this video! For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to get the lamp cover off! ;-)

    In a review by Camera Cravings, the remote control lowered the light level to 10%. I've downloaded a "manual" (more like an instructions sheet); it does not say anything about a limitation when using the remote.

      I’m disappointed that the color temperature cannot be changed from either the remote or main control unit. Seems duplicitous

    How long will the VL 200 last on battery power at full output? No one seems to have that answer. Twin V-Mount batteries 190ah 13,200 mAh. Thanks

      Hi -- check out the "Watt-hour" (Wh) rating on your batteries, and you can get a rough calculation that way. 200W / total watt-hours = rough time in hours at full power.

    I just bought the VL-150 and I can't get the remote to control it. I have the remote set to the same channel as the light. I have the RC-A5II remote. Any idea why I can't get the remote to control the light?

      Hi mobilewon,
      Do you happen to have the new VL-150ii? Our video here is for the original gen. 1 VL series lights. Annoyingly, I believe the new ones use the RC-A6 remote.

    • @mobilewon

      @@Strobepro Yes, I have the VL-150 II unit. I have the RC A6 remote that came with my Godox ML-60. I've seen some VL-150II units that come with the RC A5 remote. Sounds like a real guessing game with this.

    Does it come with the battery/charger?

      Hi arsasylum,
      100%. We couldn't get out VL150 to show any visible banding no matter how hart we tried. Tested with a mechanical shutter up to 1/8000 of a second. You can even use an electronic shutter without worry.

    Hey Jesse,
    Thank you for your fast videos on new products. I have a question that a lot people have. WHy so many different models in such a short time? what is the actual difference or benefit of these new ones? I also saw there another new model called UL150

    • @Strobepro
      @Strobepro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Jose,
      Godox is reconfiguring its whole LED lineup to support the latest COB technology, which represents a pretty big stride in terms of luminous efficiency when compared to the old SL video lights. We questioned adopting these into our lineup, having put out our own COB 120 and COB 300 jus last year, but sometimes advances in technology are just too good to ignore. As for Godox's different model types, here is a quick summary:
      FV: Monolight LEDs that support an LED flash mode.
      VL: Lightweight heads with seperate ballasts and silent fans.
      UL: Completely fanless heads with seperate ballasts. A little heavier and more expensive.
      The UL heads are intriguing, but we feel that the fan noise on the VL lights is a non-issue. Seriously, those fans are almost inaudible.

    Price aside, would there be any reason to choose the VL150 over the UL150? Could not having a fan ever be a concern?

    • @Strobepro
      @Strobepro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say weight is a big advantage of the VL lights. The VL150 head is 3.95 lbs, and the UL150 head is 6.83 lbs. To be fanless, the heat sync in the UL lights needs to be pretty robust. As for the UL lights' longevity, only time will tell I suppose. Again, I can't stress this enough, the fans on the VL lights are super silent as it is!

    I find it hilarious that an entire industry of lighting products hides the output of their lights and focuses on rather pointless metrics like CRI; or battery life on 100% - given a certain capacity. An entire industry!

    Tech info, a 7 out of 10. Presenter a 9 out of 10. Presenter’s wardrobe, 0 out of 10. Thanks for doing a review. For some unknown reason, 99.99% of gear presenters wear black clothing while presenting black gear. And to add insult to injury,-especially when presenting lighting gear-they use to little light!!! As is resoundingly the case here. Good sales people may not be good photographers. Good photographers may not be good sales people. A very reasonable hiring interview could include creating and taping a sales presentation for a piece of photo gear. If this feedback isn’t useful, or is simply not wanted, delete it!
