Wow! you should totally do a series where you pick parts and build a bike from those parts you could make some great content with that series ! also yes would love to see the other buildings!
I'm all for seeing the other buildings and I believe anyone who watched this mind blowing video would, Thanks for the experience looking forward to the more! Yours Brendan.😢
Sooner or later the building will need massive repairs and then the bikes are doomed, too expensive to keep. Also, a severe storm could damage the buildings ruin things.
I'm watching from the UK and all I can say is WOW! I was muttering away to myself identifying bikes, engine parts and frames. The twin engine and frame you didn't recognise on the ground floor is an AJS / Matchless 650cc.
Good video. With knowledge, determination and time, I think better than 80% of those items could be salvaged. In some cases, it wouldn't even be difficult for someone with the necessary skill.
It's a pity he or her left them so long! I was refurbishing bikes 20 years ago and parts were the bain of my life, I did 5 bikes before I gave up, including A10, Indian 741, Triump triple bantam c15 and others bet I could of found all i needed in here. Thanks, mate!
I had to comment again. 1 get a friend who knows British iron 2 some of what you are looking at is VERY valuable now back in the UK 3 get a shipping company to move this back to the UK as there is some real gold in there!
Sounds like something that needs to be done. Make these guys an offer. They did not ask me to find a buyer for this. I'm just saying something needs to be done with it
I've been in this hobby for 50 years, it's over. It's dying on its feet as boomers die. The useless generations are not interested in anything mechanical. Selling even good NOS in UK is now very challenging.
What's really crazy is that they all were built in England, came across the ocean, and ended up in the mini-metropolis of Marne, Iowa.!! Some of them probably have been to to Derailed Grill. Simply amazing. WAHOO.
The passion for collecting and restoring motorcycles takes over a biker and can be overwhelming 💪 and impossible to control. But Life constantly gets in the way.
In 1988 I bought a corroded BSA A65. It was in a metal shed in Ohio and sat for over 10 years. I paid 40 dollars for it. I started dis -assembly and found the entire top end was rebuilt and never fired. I cleaned up the outside corrosion and use the top end on a 1966 BSA t-Bolt! A lot of other parts were salvageable and between myself and the Club we made good use of them
All the parts organized by manufacture an part type, im betting you get an operation underway and set a goal and starting rebuilding 1 bike from scratch, and go from there. What a find!
My God! This place makes me feel ill. There's easily a quarter million dollars of motorcycles there and the grands more. It is unbelievable.! Thank you.
And it would take a half a million in labor to sell it or just move it or put it all in a new building would cost more than it is worth , If you could find buyers. The building will be falling down soon and then the expense will begin or the scrapping will have to happen.
To fast for me to keep up identifying the parts and bikes, fantastic, I have ridden and owned quite a few of these, bringing back sweet memories 🙂 I must get another to rebuild.
@@forgottenmotorcycles thanks! I don’t want to blow smoke up your hind end, but it’s been fun watching your channel grow and reach people across the globe. I don’t know how long I’ve been following, but it’s been a real treat.
Blimey, what a hoard! Would love to see further videos, i imagine Baxter Cycle will have more than a few people wanting some of the parts/bikes you showed. That V twin is probably Moto Guzzi,
Worked in a place like that when I was 18 here in UK, god I could spend days in there, at least it looked dry in there. Love to collect and make up a nice bonneville in parts in there 👍
Used to work for an after market H.D. shop we mostly built strokers but did a occasional restoration. We carted truckloads of parts all over the country........ Our gold became junk as people lost interest in old Harley's. I fear the same fate awaits all of this Brit gold
Can you imagine how long it took to take all the stuff apart and then make shelving for it and moving it many times. It would take many hours just to sell it. The bike market is way down, and labor and parts are expensive, so lots will be scrapped. 90% of it.
Wow. There’s a full blown business could run just cleaning, restoring and cataloging the entire place. It would be the biggest selection in the world, probably.
For potential buyers and owners, don't be put off by the challenge of building any British bike. The information you need is out there to do a good job, and as you can see the parts are out there waiting for you.
Thanks for this video. I am a long-time BAXTER customer and will be hammering on them for parts to fit my 1953 BSA A10 Golden Flash and my 1948 Norton ES2 500 International! If you know of anyone else who has parts for my motorcycles let me know! I noticed that Fenders for my BSA and Norton didn't seem to show here...
Heaven for restorers shame to see it all just crumbling away get it out to people that want this stuff be awesome to just spend some time in there and build a bike from it fantastic like a dream world
The twin you looked at upstairs was a Matchless twin, probably of 650cc. The AJS is a Stormer, a two stroke race bike. Madness and someone needs to get these bikes and parts out to the public that can use them. Useless otherwise.
im sure this comment will get buried but just to clarify a lot of these parts are in there for a reason... its not just a mountain of neglected bikes in bits.. many parts do get sold and the inventory changes day by day thing do go out and come back in!
If I had this collection of parts I would take inventory of the parts and photos, then I would let A.I. tell me which builds would be more profitable. If complete bike builds are possible.
Very little of what we see here is too far gone if you have the right know how, patience and kit, this isnt modern, lousy quality, poorly manufactured for planned obselesence, most of what is here is re machinable, mind blowing aint it_ Japan has an enormous demand for this stuff and money to pay for it, plus thay also got some of the worlds most dedicated craftsmen, dare say theres plenty of tinkerers in Blighty who would work miracles with this stuff too yes!
It is overwhelming the amount of bikes there. You dont know where to start. Where is all the nuts an bolts an wires an cables to start putting something back together? Then you gotta choose what to put togeth🤯🤯🤯
I’m looking for a stock or only slightly extended front fork for a 60’s-70’s Triumph, to include the fork legs & tubes, triple trees, bearings and hopefully the handlebars. I have an old chopper that presently has a ridiculously extended Harley tube fork front end, and I want to put it back to the way it was meant to be. And yes, I’ll pay for shipping. Got anything?
Many of us are hoarders to some extent, tho very few on this scale. One can be critical on an individual basis, but personally l feel it is such a good thing when parts and complete bikes are stored in relatively good conditions, as years later they can keep the bikes of enthusiasts on the the road or complete a resto. It would be much sadder if these parts, engines etc were found in a tumble down shack and beyond re use. Those who drew this collection together knew what they were doing. Thanks to them
I would guess now is the time to start selling all that stuff ,i honestly cant see the future younger generations showing much interest in the vintage bikes , sadly declining 😢

They should make it accessible to the public and sell cheap parts to see if we can get some of those relics back on the road.
I'm all for that
Liability would prevent that, it's too easy to get hurt, so No one should be allowed into the building.
Please show more warehouses. Very excited to see more. Thanks
Sure thing!
I have to comment twice. I’d love to rummage through all that. It would cost me a pretty penny I’m sure haha. Very cool!!!
