I had two professors who allowed me to write "alternate essays". One of them taught World Lit., and she let me write--rather than an essay about Ovid--a response to Ovid, in Ovid's style. The other professor (World History) allowed me to write a short story in place of an essay. If more instructors had been like those two, I might have enjoyed my nearly 20 years of education. As always, I enjoyed your talk, and your poem. Thank you.
I had a teacher who did that for me! My chemistry teacher in Grade 11, Mr. Smyth. We had a project to write an essay about an element on the periodic table, and I asked him after class if I could write a SciFi story instead. He said yes, as long as the story contained information about the element I'd chosen (Lithium). I was so pleased, and at 51 years old, I still remember that project and the respect Mr. Smyth showed me.
YOU are a JOY!!❤🧚🏻❄️
Mercy, mercy, mercy -- not embarrassed to throw it around! Thanks, as always, Jack.
C'mon Man! Jack we will see you tonight. Man you are the BEST!
You're so funny! "Can we see you without your glasses!" 😄☕
