I first played Mass Effect back in 2009 when I was 20. Fast-forward for today: I'm now 34 years old and studying orbital mechanics and spacecraft engineering hoping that my presentation about it will get me into a Master's degree course in Aerospace Engineering. I'm relying on this nostalgic old friend of an ost to help me...
It is strange how this music brings my mind to peace... brings me back to my childhood, when everything was so simple and only thing I was concerned about was: when I get to play this game again... it was mesmerizing and it still is... love this game and also this music
I became an infantry Marine in 2006 in the middle of the war so I missed out on this game. I bought the trilogy pack in 2010 when my contract ended and only played a few hours and fell in love with it. Sci-fi is my favorite genre. I went to college in Tokyo so I got busy again. After living in different cities and learning different languages I "made it" in my career now...and the Remastered version with most DLCs just came out! I preordered it, and now even though I'm in a leadership position at work...The only thing I'm concerned about is when I'm going to get to play again after work!
It’s funny how this brings me to a better place mentally. I’ve been through some pretty nasty shit, survived, but this music just brings me back. I listen to this to help me fall asleep, and dream of futuristic possibilities instead of the haunting past.
@RAZER SSS Reading your comment and the one above made me feel a lot more hopeful for the world, it’s comforting to know there are a lot of good people still out there - thank you :) ✨
And knowing EA you will have to pay once more for the same game without any extra features. I hope this remaster is going to be more like a remake, I mean please BioWare make it good better then 4K ALoT Modded original, because I love this game series
Man I beat mass effect 1 and 2 for the first time like a year and a half ago and the experience will always stay with me. This music brings me comfort.
I remember when the first two games came out, I thought it was an over rated franchise and never played them during their peak days. Then, I got the whole trilogy on amazon in like 2014 and it became my favorite game of all time. Even more so than oblivion skyrim and the fallout games. I'm a huge sucker for futuristic space age stuff.
We Mass Effect fans are quite a devout bunch, and for good reason. The imagery in this video is from Mass Effect Andromeda, the starting point on Eos. Say what you will about any of the 4 games; they will ALL remain legendary and live on in the fondest depths of my heart ❤️❤️❤️
I came in late to the Mass Effect party pretty late (around the end of 2011, so a few months before ME3 came out, but I can’t describe with words how this game affected me and how it still affects me. What a great work of art that trilogy is, even barring it’s ending that many did not like (at the time, I felt pretty indifferent/thought it was good enough. But I learned why people didn’t much care for it, and so grew a better appreciation for the extended ending we got, which wasn’t perfect, but to me it was enough.) One of the biggest things I loved most was the soundtrack, especially those more peaceful tracks like the galaxy map track and the ME1 main menu theme. It’s just something about those two put in the context of exploring space and cultures and discovering mysteries that makes for such a memorable experience. I am interested in this new ME being created staring at least Liara, but I only hope it is not a repeat of ME Andromeda or of what Gears of War 4 was to that franchise. I’m hoping for new characters, some of the same characters, mentions of previous characters like Shepard and the Normandy crew, the Reapers of course (depending on how long it’s been since they were destroyed), new planets and places to visit, maybe an old place or two to visit (a refurbished citadel or omega, any of the original home worlds of the main species, and a good ending to Liara (and possibly grunt’s) storyline. There’s a lot of loose ends to tie up at the end up ME3, so there’s a lot left to do/realize for a final game. What of the leviathans? Will liara remain the shadow broker? Did Shepard have children? Did he even survive? What happens to the galaxy of species now? Who rules what? Is there a new council? A new form of government? Does everything break down into anarchy as the remnant of civilization fight over what’s left? Are the relays repaired if they were destroyed? Was the illusion man really killed? Was Anderson killed? I think it would make for an interesting game if the relays could never be repaired and all species were pretty much stuck wherever each was primarily at by the end of the war. It could potentially lead to the creation of faster space flight so that interstellar flight takes much longer than it would be using the relays, but still quicker than when the relays were active. Could create an interesting dynamic between different holdouts of beings left alive. Will they work together? Become tribal and/or war mongers? Anyway, I had some spare time to type that because I love the ME series and wanted to, because I’m excited to see where it goes but also hoping it’s in the right place.
It´s like I´m back out there, exploring the galaxy and saving the entire universe from extinction. Great memories and good friends that fought at my side all along.
Excellent mix. I especially enjoyed the incorporation of John Paesano’s work from Andromeda. The music was the best part about that entry, and it really fits within the overall Mass Effect music sound space. Huge kudos to Sam Hulick, Jack Wall, Christopher Lennertz, Clint Mansell, and Sascha Dikichiyan for their incredible work on this series!
I grew up playing this game and others... so i ask just one thing, how can reality be enough now? it just isnt... will never be... a huge part of me will always be there, on the Normandy, on Nighcity...
No radio in Starfield and running across mostly empty planets gets boring, but this should help! Hopefully it doesn't make me pause Starfield and play the ME Trilogy for like the 14th time lol
I mean it wasn't bad but it wasn't a special experience for me either. I liked the gameplay during fights. But in the end it was a 90 hour experience I don't need to relive that soon.
Mass Effect: Andromeda in general was under-appreciated. Yes it has issues, and yes it quite clearly needed more development time, but overall it was a good, if a little problematic, game. I think people went in expecting it to be just like the trilogy, not realising that it was purposely built to be its own game. It’s not a continuation, it’s not about the Milky Way or dealing with the problems there. Andromeda is something new. The setting, the cast of characters, the tone, the gameplay, the main enemy, the mission. It all changed because that was the point. It’s something new, something different. People, so called “fans”, for whatever reason didn’t see that. They went into it thinking it would be the same as the trilogy, and cried foul when it wasn’t. Now to reiterate, Andromeda did have problems. And it still does. But people absolutely had one idea for the game, didn’t like that it wasn’t what they had in mind, and refused to give the game a fair shake and look at it for what it was: a new take on the Mass Effect franchise.

Cant wait the nuts franchise is being brought back to life, Yes I did like Andromeda too not as much as the 2nd and 3rd ME The story has something for everyone and has the potential of being as big as StarTrek or Starwars! I really hope the rumors about the Mass Effect Legendary Edition remaster are true. It would be AMAZING to have the original idea for ME1 to be fully realized, with procedurally generated worlds, near infinite exploration, and modern graphics and gameplay. Bioware would redeem itself in my eyes if they did that.
There are no rumors, my friend. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a fact and it's coming on this year's spring! It will be a fully remastered package of the original trilogy. Just a remaster, as Rhah said, no new features aside from including all previously published DLC and a complete overhaul of visuals. Cheers!
It's happening!! There are videos of the new gameplay and it looks amazing. Overhaul of visuals in 4k, tweaks of combat systems, improved inventory system for ME1. It's happening!
