My vote for your next read is Crawdads. I know what you mean about hype - it puts me off a book - but this a good one. It does take a little while to get into but bear with it

@@karensmart13 they must take up a lot of space on your shelf- they are pretty huge books aren’t they?! I love a chunky book though - it really allows you to immerse yourself! Xx

My favourite book and biggest surprise as it’s a totally different genre for me is ‘Cerce’ by Madeline Miller, brilliant book 📕my other half devoured the whole series of Seven sisters in just over a week and has pre ordered Pa Salt out next year Oct 22 so must be good 👍
I’ve heard a few people mention Cerce recently. What genre is it? Wow! That is some speedy reading by your other half- I’m impressed! ⚡️

If you’re a new fan of Kristin Hannah books I think you should also try “The Four Winds” written by her, it totally broke my heart (but in a good way I guess) and made my eyes puffy from constantly crying! It was the best book I’ve read this year.
Speaking of your list, I’m voting for “The Great Alone” as your next read or “Where the Crawdads Sing” if you want more summery, seaside vibes.

Thanks for all your recommendations,read,”the weekend away”,and really enjoyed it,not a fan, like you, of the best friend in the book,however stuck with it,in a word,rollercoaster of a read! I realised lately I really enjoy books with a missing or murdered person and usually a loved one trying to figure out what happened to them. Just finished,”the castaways”,by Lucy Clarke,5 star book for me,on a sister trying to find out what happened her,presumed dead sister from a plane that vanished… happy reading…

Thanks for replying!! My local library,have a great free e/audiobook app called,borrowbox,your library might have a similar service,that is where I read,the castaways,for free on my phone or I pad. Another recommendation,for a slightly different thriller is,the wife and the widow,by Christian white,kept me hooked…. Keep the recommendations coming…

I’ve heard great things about it so I bought the 3rd book in the series from a charity shop the other day…! I’m hoping I love the series x
If you like holiday books set in exotic places get Belinda Jones of Chris mamby my go to authors and Sarah mason is good too
