Fishing in the Florida Keys is full of options but sometimes some easy fishing in the mangroves is the best way to catch fish without too much work. If you love fishing the mangroves you should come check out key largo and see what it's all about.

I picked up a bag of those silver sides the other day and the yellow tail ate them up. What’s cool is so many come in a bag you can chum up with them as they thaw out and hook up.
This was all at the Bahia Honda Bridge too not at the reef.

I’m an idea guy. To catch fiddlers & maybe mangrove crabs. Dig a small hole in the area put a bucket flush to the ground. Bait with squid ect. Wait a while to check the bucket. Let us know if it works.
Good stuff Heiko, maybe time to invest in a pinfish trap and tie it to the dock. Would love to see how that turns out. Think about it, endless supply of pinfish.

I know Women like fishing... My Grandma not only fished but made Fishing Lures, as did Grandpa.
My Uncle used to tie flys.

Florida is so beautiful and has awesome fishing spots.
👍 If you drop a small bait trap with a few small pieces of bologna and white bread and tie it to the dock or back of the boat first thing in the morning or at night you might be able to skip a trip to the bait store. They used to come in clear plastic and metal mesh. We always got shiners & kellies for bait, and glass shrimp, clear jellyfish, pipefish, sometimes green crabs, with bologna and white bread. It's also nice because you can release what you don't use for bait.
