You should do a driving video on this. I love the common rail 5.9's alot! They are one of my favorite sounding engines and I would love to see a driving video on it :)

I had Cummins turn this motor up from 185hp to 195 I was under the assumption they were going to bump it to 215hp and now I regret buying stock injectors for it kinda wish i would have gotten the next level up. But it runs good and burns clean has no black smoke from the tail pipe.
You might know this- I have a chance to buy a 2010 MT45 for cheap. It has a 6.7 Cummins and may need a new engine. I have a 1988 Mercruiser 260 GM 350 low hours. . Could it fit in the MT45? Thanks.
Nice rig! Are those single rear wheel vans more narrow than the drw models? It almost looks like the rear axle is just made a touch wider. What are the interior dimensions?
My truck is the 86.5'' wide model. I can tell you on the rear axle does have a spacer bolted on for the single rear tire model my guess if someone wanted it to be a dual rear tire you would remove the extension. My dually pickup trucks use the same type of extension for the front tires. Inside dimensions are 80.5'' wide 80.5'' tall 142'' long on the side walls I used 2X4 that I thru bolted to the factory installed E track and 1/2 plywood sides, on the front wall it is 3/4 plywood mounted to the steal frame of the bulkhead.

Hi thanks for the complement on the truck and as for the fuel milage i just looked it up on my phone I log all of my fuel up on CarIQ app and it is reading 11.11 mpg but to be fair I do idle the motor during summer days to keep the cab cooled down. And on the interstate I usually set the cruise control at 66 mph I have the truck speed limit set at 75 mph top speed and cruise set to 70 mph top speed.

A 2010 WITH 160,000 MI. 18 FT MT45 MARKED DOWN TO AN ASTOUNDINGLY LOW. $ 35,000! I've about giving up I just don't know where to turn ,I'm looking for something that is not just coming out of the first owners fleet, I'm looking for something that's mid-5ish 5.9 Cummins maybe a 6.7 Cummins that's been reasonably taken care of isn't beat to death but I do not see them anywhere in the contiguous 48 states what am I doing wrong?????????
@@markgrehlinger7117 Hi Mark to be honest I did a fair amount of work to this truck and have more upgrades coming in the future. I would check on Facebook There is a 12ft model on Step van RV site for sale old usps truck with the mercedes motor and gov.deals have a few from time to time. Good luck on your search I truly feel blessed do to the fact this truck had all the options I wanted at the time and was some what close to my location.

I spent around $8000 that includes boring the block and having the cylinder head done at the machine shop, all new pistons, bearings, I also replaced all the fuel injectors and fuel connecting tubes with new units the injectors were close to $3000 of the cost of the rebuild. Any thing can be fabricated to fit but as a direct bolt in no it’s not. Big issue is the transmission is all electronic it has an Alison 1000 transmission pretty much the same transmission as a 06-07 duramax would have just doesn’t have 6 th gear activated but there is a company that can reflash the tcm and it will unlock 6th gear. Plus all the motor mounts the motor is set in like an over the road big truck it has motor mounts on the flywheel adapter housing and at the front of the motor transmission is suspended in the air no crossmember

Truck is averaging 11 MPG and 1/4 Mile time is SLOW LOL.
I really like how to have upgraded the step van. Any idea of the average gas mileage with the diesel?
