      well if u want to have skin cancer later, keep using that

      Skin cancer is not caused directly from skin exposure. Topical carcinogen containing products lathered over your skin for years, does. There’s a reason why skin cancer rates are higher with higher rates of carcinogen containing products being used. But if you prefer to parrot what you’re told instead of what you know, go a head and lather your cancer creams over your body.

    I make something similar..with 20 percent non nano zinc oxide, (I do this with an electronic scale as it needs to be 20 to 25 percent for excellent protection) ev olive oil, ev coconut oil and beeswax. Heard about the addition of cocoa powder so will try adding that to stop it smearing on so white! Thank you for the video.

    does adding the cacao powder cause the product to expire faster?

    I always made my own suntan lotion without the zinc oxide. But I had to be careful cuz I still burnt. This year going to make it. My husband would lather on the store bought stuff and now has skin cancer. He has had removed. So I am very excited
    To try your
    Recipe. Question when using bees wax does it feel gritty?

    • @OurAmyableFarmhouse
      @OurAmyableFarmhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stephanie- when using the beeswax pastilles like mentioned in the recipe there is no gritty feeling. I imagine if you used fresh harvested beeswax that's unfiltered there would naturally be gritty effects. Hope you find this recipe works nicely for you!

    Wondering if anyone knows if immersion blending the zinc oxide reduces its particle size? (If wanting to keep the non-nano Zinc oxide Non-Nano)

    Loved this. Thank you so much. I find cocoa powder still makes my skin look weirdly grey. Anyone got any other things they add?

      I start with 1 tsp coca powder and adjust from there according to skin pigmentation.

    Hi, wouldn’t there be bacteria in last year’s batch? And I’m curious, how do you know it works? Just because it looks like sunscreen doesn’t mean it protects you. Maybe it can from UVB if you layer on enough (then the esthetic is not so good, did cocoa powder help?), but it doesn’t protect from UVA. I’m not a chemist, but many here on TH-cam and dermatologists advise against DIY sunscreen. What is your perspective on this?

    • @OurAmyableFarmhouse
      @OurAmyableFarmhouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi there! Thank you for your questions. I have never experienced mold/bacteria in my sunscreen. I suspect because there is NO WATER used, which is the main reason products will eventually go bad. Bees wax also has natural preservative properties. Yes, cocoa powder is an excellent resolution to the pasty-white glow that comes from zinc oxide based sunscreens. Zinc oxide is the ingredient that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. So we're good there! Safe and protected.

    Won't protect good enough that's why you have wrinkles

    • @OurAmyableFarmhouse
      @OurAmyableFarmhouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yes the wrinkles LOL! Wish I knew the importance of skin protection when I was younger. However, since I've faithfully used this recipe, I haven't burned. It works!

      @@OurAmyableFarmhouse if it just protects you from burning it only protects you from uvb (the rays that cause the redness and pain) but it may not be protecting you from the even more dangerous uva rays (the ones that cause cancer, spots and wrinkles), please dont risk your skin and just buy a good sunscreen :)

    • @OurAmyableFarmhouse
      @OurAmyableFarmhouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Thank you for your concern, Annie! I believe everyone should do their own research and educate themselves so that they can make a thoroughly informed choice. I am confident after researching and learning that zinc oxide blocks both UVA and UVB rays and supplying myself and family with this safe and healthy alternative. Thanks for stopping by!

      @@OurAmyableFarmhouse see myth #2 here, from an educated source. If it’s difficult for a chemist to formulate, it would be difficult for anyone. It’s not the same as making a good recipe at home. SPF needs to be tested for effectiveness before being used. Hopefully for you and anyone who watches your channel will never get cancer but honestly, commercial sunscreens are safe so why risk it? th-cam.com/video/KcmVdQ_j2C8/w-d-xo.html
