Just beware when purchasing property here. Construction can be pretty shoddy. You are going to pay way too much for a Home Depot house. There is also no more season for snowbirds. Traffic is terrible all year around. Another thing in Lakewood Ranch is that our schools are packed to the gills.
Been in Lakewood Ranch for 24 years.had my house built here. Things have changed a lot use to be cow pasture across the road but still love it here . Coming from Atlanta traffic doesn't bother me at all.
LR HOA has their own traffic camera that issues speeding tickets to people that exceed 20mph. Last year i had someone tailgating me, so i just pulled over

An experienced operator will use a calibrated radar device to capture speeds, license plate numbers, date/time, and location of the violation. Speeding violations will be subject to the following fines and penalties: 1st violation: $100 fine and 1-week gate barcode/pass suspension 2nd violation: $100 fine and 2-week gate barcode/pass suspension 3rd (and subsequent) violations within a given calendar year: $200 fine and 3-month gate barcode/pass suspension

Exactly, it's not that bad once you know how to avoid I75 at certain times during season

The added frustration is the use of horns for no reason, it's it's south American thing they brought here.
Can’t wait to move out of here. Over developed. Traffic horrible. Drivers are horrible. New homes are 6ft apart.
