- ■ SRI LANKA, HIKKADUWA: The only positive externality of the current curfew imposed on us all here in Sri Lanka for me personally has been that my taste buds have experienced a world of flavors from the local cuisine I didn't know existed before. A new local favorite of mine is the Sri Lankan rice Mango curry.
But in the village, before you can cook and devour a delicious mango curry, you must first pick the mangos. That can be quite the adventure in and of itself....
To hold camera in one hand and do this job is humongous effort, only a person who had kasippu can do it.

I've been following your channel for so long, i'm not really a fan of youtubers tbh cause most people are so fake, they could sit in one video hating a product that they next month love just because they getting paid from it. You are something different tho, your videos are funny, well made and you upload frequently, and you don't sit and advertise products that we should buy, u also have valid reasons when you take a break from the channel. While other youtubers could upload once a week and get exhausted from that and then also need a 4 weeks vacation to relax.
What you do could literally be a seriers on a tv-channel for sure, you do your thing in a loyal, legit way, and it's very entertaining. Well done man.

This stove reminds me of my Kitchen in Spain, we cook like this all of the summer, as it's too hot in the summer to cook inside the house, the smells the smoke and the family around, nothing better.

My home in Hawaii has all the “comforts” of a self sustaining trees & veggies..mango, avocado, pineapple, coconut trees with tomato, garlic, cucumber, beans, lettuce, and tons of herbs to keep everyone, including the chickens 🐓 well fed. Eggs and milk from goats...and everyone is happy. All neighbors are happy to look after the house when I’m at the farm on East Coast. It’s a great way to live...”new” way for many in the USA. You should do a Harald Reports...teaching people all food doesn’t come from the supermarket. Great watching your videos..learning that we are all the same, just on different parts of the planet. That’s the way I harvest the mango back in the days here in the Philippines. It’s so enjoyable and fun with your friends. But we climbed it with barefoot. Awesome you’re quite a good climber with shoes on.

These people are just beautiful. And the way they live is even more so. Humble and happy with huge smiles at every turn. I think the way they cook is magical. Love the two old aunty sisters cooking over the hot wood fired stove together to give you Sri Lankan dish made from scratch. Drinking the Kapsippu adds some humour too. Your a good sport eating as much food as you did and even more so for taking those ant bites and for being the camera long up into the branches so we could see exactly what it was like to go high up and pick mangoes. Ur light and life Baldr, in an otherwise trying time. Thanks for bringing Sri Lanka and it's people to us. Love from Australia.
