- ■ SRI LANKA, ELLA: Sri Lanka is a land of opportunities. Yet, despite actually doing my utmost to meet local entrepreneurs and established business owners I found it incredibly difficult do just that. But whilst on a long drive though the mountains and tea plantations of Ella I finally stumbled upon one by pure accident.
What he told me was a mighty impressive story of how he'd taken the leap to open his own little tea shop at the age of 26. Is this man Sri Lanka's next Ceylon tea millionaire? This called for a full-scale Harald investigates!
He says he sells 20 tea a day at 28cents each, thats $5.60 a day, 30ish days in a month thats $168, 10,000rupees payment a month($57), leaves him with $111 a month, or $3.7 a day not even factoring in normal expenses. Unreal.

Hey! Our Tuk Tuk driver dropped us off here this afternoon: I recognised the place straight away from this video. We bought 2000 ruppees worth of tea. Im from Norway visited Sri Lanka and drove to this tea center. He have now mentioned Harald in his Tea poster and also his tea shop has got much better and his english has also improved a lot. Im happy for him and Harald helped this lovely guy a lot back then and now he is doing it great!❤

He was entirely satisfied with just the 50/=he got even after spending a long time with just one customer. Most of others would have demanded for an extra tip. So his honesty was rewarded just in minutes way more than just a tip.
So lesson for people in tourism. Don't try to rip off tourists. Be friendly and honest. Oneday you will be rewarded for honesty like this guy. 👏👏
