    Dr. Ahmed Elkady, your videos are very much helpful. I am learning Abaqus software from your videos. I am watching your videos from Bangladesh.
    Would you please make a video regarding the two way floor system analysis? I am stuck at it. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

    Dear Ahmend, thank you very much for putting this perfect presentation together. I have one question. If I wanted to just export the bolt pre-tension load from standard to explicit without any additional load as you did here, is it possible to do that?
    Thanks,

    Dear Dr.
    I recently watched your video and found it to be incredibly informative. Your expertise and clear explanations made the topic easily understandable.
    I have a question regarding whether the method you presented can be applied to import nodal deformations from a time history dynamic analysis to an explicit solver? if yes, instead of FREQUENCY=1 what should i write there? in the keywords field .
    Thank you for your time and for sharing your knowledge through your insightful video.
    Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Sir can you explain the other methods for pretension where we can't use the static and use the explicit analysis direct. Because in my case i have cyclic loading and can't use the static anlysis also there is increment issues in the static.

    @Ahmed Elkady Thanks professor for the nice tutorial. Inhave few questions
    ✍️ How is *Imperfection different from *Import analysis option
    ✍️How to directly do bolt preload in dynamic analysis using connector element or using coefficient of thermal expansion of the underlying element where bolt is in contact . Can we get same static results using the above two options

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can get the same results using connector elements or thermal expansion. I will try to do a video on those soon.

    Thank you for your sharing. I tried this method, but I couldnot obtain satisfactory results. For my concerns, only the nodal deformation was implemented in the initial state of the dynamic model, but without the stress state, the dynamic model was not exactly the one I need. For instance, like the prestressed strand, after post tensioning the strand deforms and with internal stresses in it. If I continue to tension the strand, it's easier to yield. But if I only apply deformation on the strand, it's more difficult than the previous one to yield for there are no stressed in it.

      @AElkady  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Correct, unfortunatly, this method only imports the nodal deformations and not the stress state. For cases where both are important, other methods can be used such as the restart option or thermo-mechanical analysis.

    Thanks for this interesting video. I would like to ask if a second implicit static general step can be used in place of the explicit one.

    The deformable element nodes contained in node set ErrNodeSpaNodeNoMass-Step1 have no mass associated with them and some translational degrees of freedom at the nodes are not constrained. Either mass must be definedor all of the translational degrees of freedom must be constrained. See the status file for further details.
    my job stopped with the following error. My static model ran fine and i exactly used your approach for the explicit part. Any suggestions?

    Hello Dr. Ahmed,
    Thank you so much for making this video. I have a question. I am doing a post-buckling analysis of cold-formed steel columns. In this post-buckling analysis, I am using the dynamic explicit analysis type and I have incorporated geometric imperfections as a scaled mode shape from linear buckling analysis. I want to include bolt load in my post-buckling analysis; my boundary condition consists of M8 bolts. How could I do that? Since bolt load is to be included similarly to geometric imperfections, I cannot include both geometric imperfections and bolt load simultaneously in the post-buckling analysis. It would be great if you could provide some direction?

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can follow the same procedures but in two steps. buckling analysis imported as imperfection to pretension analysis then pretension analysis (with imperfect buckled shape) imported as imperfection to main analysis.

    Hello Dr. Ahmed,
    Thank you for your video. I have noticed that when I transmit the displacement from the static model to the explicit model with VUMAT, it does not generate the corresponding stress at the initial step. I suspect that this could be because the model lacks initial stiffness when the subroutine is applied. Do I need to also transmit the initial stress to resolve this issue?
    Thank you once again!

    • @AElkady

      This method only imports the nodal deformations and not the stress state. For cases where both are important, other methods can be used such as the "restart option" or thermo-mechanical analysis.

    Thanks for this video. how can i export nodal deformation from an explicit analysis to static general? Contrary to what you did in this video.

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  ปีที่แล้ว

      follow the same procedure. the *imperfection command works with standard and explicit analysis.

  • @jayshah5949
    @jayshah5949 ปีที่แล้ว

    does it mean that the stresses generated from the static step will be imported to the explicit step?

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, only the deformation state. For the stress state you will need to use the *Import analysis option

    Hey Ahmed, I have a shell model and internal pressure is applied on the inner walls of the tank with the vertical being in the Z axis. My S33 value shows 0 and im unable to solve it. How do I solve this ??

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shell elements, by definition, experience in-plane stress cmponents only while the tress component s33 normal to the surface is zero.

      @@AElkady Then can I take the stress value from the S22 plane while internal pressure is applied on z-axis ?

    Hello professor! I got this warning when doing the dynamic analysis: the previous analysis contained 226178 nodes, but only 226138 were found on the results file.
    Would this affect my analysis? Does the preloading still work?

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should be fine. You can always visually check if the imperfection field awas imported correctly as I show in the tutorial.
