    The 2021 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour Finals is a 10-player round-robin taking place from September 25 to October 4 on chess24, with World Champion Magnus Carlsen, World Cup winner Jan-Krzysztof Duda and Dutch no. 1 Anish Giri playing from a venue in Oslo. The players start with bonus points based on their performance over the $1.6 million tour so far and then play a match each day for a maximum of 3 points. The top scorer after 9 rounds wins $100,000 and is crowned the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour champion.
    Each match features four rapid games with a time control of 15 minutes for all moves plus a 10-second increment added each move. The winner gets 3 points and the loser 0. If tied 2:2, then a blitz playoff is played, with two games where the players have 5 minutes and a 3-second increment. If still tied they play a single Armageddon game, where White has 5 minutes to Black’s 4, but a draw counts as a win for Black. The winner after a playoff gets 2 points, the loser 1. Tony just completely ruins the games with his "now win the game for Magnus" when there are ten minutes more of chess and a battle fought to the death. I hate it. I wish he would post a link where I could watch without his ruining the drama. Often, he even tells you in the title who will win: "Carlsen's Immortal Queen!" You already know who won.

    I think Duda’s Nerves were absolutely wrecked from the previous game and he Knew Magnus came prepared, so my best guess is he tried to take magnus OUT of his preparation, but he didn’t, he played right into his hands. Sometimes I think people trust magnus too much, like when he offers an obviously poisonous pawn, or when he leaves pieces hanging like this he makes them think the obvious and best move is something he prepared for.. so they trust him and don’t play it.. I’m certain it has to do with the Presence magnus brings to the table.. shits probably more intimidating than when Elon Musk meets his kids science teacher.. like what do you do? Talk about a baking soda and food dye volcano to that guy..?! Yeah.. suuurrreee..

    Best game so far

  • @IgorYagolnitser
    @IgorYagolnitser 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    the "all out exchange" variation doesn't work: in the end White has Nb5, and the d6 cannot be saved. If Ke7 trying to protect it, then White just moves the Bishop from d3, adding a Rook to the attack, and Black does not have another piece to defend the pawn, their position falls apart. Of course Black could simply follow ...Nxd5 Be7 with Nxe7, and remain up a pawn...
