    You could slide rubber hoses over the pump delivery valves, bend over into test tubes in a wooded holding rack, and actually see delivery amounts from each valve, then adjust inside the pump rack to match all the valves outputs.

    Found that interesting, such a simple design but serves it's purpose.

    Well done Joe, few people who know anything about engines would tackle an injection pump. The diesel will wash off in the shower, your bathroom may costs a fortune to clean, but you've saved a fortune. Diesel takes a lot of igniting, much more than a match, or lighter. Well done, I want to see it running an engine now. 👏👍👏👍👏👍👏

    That pump looks exactly like the one on my T-55 engine. I've got some videos on my channel. I've got two engines and the spare pump is currently off getting a truck style regulator to stop it pulsing in my lighter vehicle :)

    • @InNeedOfSpeed
      @InNeedOfSpeed 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've had the regulator apart as well to try and modify it to my needs without too much success.

    A recommendation for MR cameraman ...... nice work there fella but ease up on the old zoom ...all the bobbing about starts to make you feel a bit sicky
    try using some kind of stabiliser .. just an idear

      It's more of an autofocus problem. I think they need to learn how to use manual focussing to keep the focus on the subject and not random things that pop into frame.

    Keeping in mind the rush to build these tanks, i wonder if this (type) injection pump was previously used in other applications? Farm or transport...

  • @hastuart9639
    @hastuart9639 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Fuel delivery amount is controlled by the scroll on the fuel pump plunger(s), as the scroll opens or is turned then more fuel is admitted , pressurised and passes to the injector.

    This pump testing, freeing up, checking for flow is great. But in all your videos I've never seen you address the injection nozzles.
    Bench testing would reveal poor spray patterns, poor pop off pressure and low quantity out if some. A lot of HP and running smoothness is lost there.

    I wonder if some former Red Army VM was watching this with a knowing grin on his face.
    In a Russian accent while drinking ice cold VODKA. "Wait till the decadent Englander pig, tries to refit the accelerator shaft return springs. He will learn that in the Rodina you don't fix an engine, it fixes YOU!"

  • @Ibis117
    @Ibis117 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Genuine question: could the same results be achieved with water rather than diesel? Cheaper, if nothing else.

    • @gagemcgregor2123
      @gagemcgregor2123 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The diesel lubricates the pump at the same time, water doesn’t work so well

      Tank makers didn't really like these i think, because they lit on fire. (This one is a diesel with that being one of the reasons)

    So is T34 engine Soviet designed or copied from another engine?

    • @Archlegan
      @Archlegan ปีที่แล้ว

      Soviet designed, with help... The engine was originally designed before WW2 by Hispano-Suiza for zeppelins (why it's an aluminum casting)..the French sent the design to the Soviets, which they adapted and modified. The Soviets always claimed it was their original design. Never quite stepped out of the V-2s shadow either, with upgrades and modifications to work all the way up to the T72.
      I've heard that the V-2 took "inspiration" from captured German tanks with the v12 Maybach engines as well, but is less substantiated/documented.
