Excellent video Captain Patrick! Very informative and interesting. I'm thinking, dangerous places to go and pirates. I do believe the good Lord is looking after you !
Thanks, John, for the positive comment. Fortunately, Tanzania is well south of Somalia so we should be safe. We personally know people, and their horror stories, who were abducted and held for ransom in the Philippines. We are not about to take chances. It was only in the past year we were running into South African cruisers who have been to Tanzania and spoke highly of the place. This is the land of "Dr. Livingston, I presume?" as most of the early British explorers based in Zanzibar, just off the African coast. We have cruising friends who have passed us up and are there now. It all looks good. I don't need to be a "Captain Phillips"! Could be an interesting video though....I will keep the GoPro in my pocket.
If you mean the life lines, I would never want to do that as certainly, sooner or later they will fall in the water and tangle on the prop or rudder. I just hang the handed line on the winch or, for the reef lines, there are Velcro straps, screwed to the coach roof, which hold them in place.
Hey, a thing i started doing around the house or shop is using part of a plastic shopping bag to water tight, or just tighten up a thread or seal. Could work on that small window in a pinch. Leaky garden hose threads are a common one i use it on. Just think of any plastic bag, or candy wrapper as cheap easy to find thread tape, or seal tightener. Might be handy on boats IDK. I've used this on maybe a dozen things now. There's probably plenty of Chinese plastic out there you can just snag if you look for one.
