This is the gold standard, and Sylvia really under sells herself here. The most important role of being a music producer has nothing to do with music. It is being able to read people, understand their limits... know their talent windows.. pick up on vibes... know when to just shut it down. The music world needs much more of this.

Yup. The primary role of a Record Producer is to direct and oversee record making process of a Song to its final mix as a Producer is comparable to a director in a movie. In Hip Hop, R&R, Pop genres, it's often combining both the Record Producer role that controls the recording sessions and a Programmer or Composer that composes the musical track such as Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Scott Storch, Pharrell Williams and Rodeny Jerkins.
