My whole life I am a Feyenoord supporter. So that is now close to 54 years. Arne is one of our best coaches we ever had. He is loved and respected by supporters, players, staff, opponents, media and will be surely missed. You will get a great coach, give him love and support and you will love him too. All the best Arne, thank you for all you have done for Feyenoord.
Ever since you cut your hair, Liverpool has not been performing
He's cost us the quad 😢
😂🤣😊...go all the way ...like Arne !...to make the magic return? 🤔
Follows the trend of a haircut killing good form, Salah hasnt been the same post-AFCON, he got a haircut around the same time, coincidence? I think not!
Thats because the new era hasnt started yet, slot must arrive for the light to shine on Liverpool once again.
😂
I'm baffled at the way everyone keeps assuming Xabi would have succeeded at liverpool, and anyone else would be trash and fail.. truth is anyone taking over from Kloop has huge shoes to fill, and no one is guaranteed to succeed and immediately win us the title next season. No one even heard about Arne Slot until a couple of days ago, yet he's being written off before he even takes on the job.
The reality is that regardless of which manager we got, there will have to be a period of adjustment.. we'll be a team in transition for a couple of years to come..
Welcome Arne Slot to LFC, YNWA ❤
Couple of years ? Mate if he does crap in his first year he’s on thin ice, I think he’s not going to do much and will be under pressure by Christmas
Pressure from who? The fickle fans who expect success immediately and expect us to walk through every team we face, or the press, that will constantly compare Slott to Klopp.
Most will give next season a pass aslong as it's not a disaster, but its going to be a tough season for him from all sides
@@paul-soundaffected Well mate, this team bottled the league with 10 games to go, so it’s not like he is starting from scratch, a title challenge is to be expected anything less questions will need to be asked. The reason why I say bottled and not lost the league is with the run in, we have lost 2 out of 4, lost 2 games all seasons and then we go and do that so it’s definitely a bottle job
never mind the slot double entendres, we got "Arne-field"
I love that world play 👏🏿
still analfield
I laughed at the "This Is Arne-field" headline before I realised it was from The Sun and now I hate it. Sorry,
People forget Liverpool overchieved this yr, will finish in 3rd place, and will compete next yr for Championship ⚽️ in Europe. Exciting in my humble opinion. We won 1 🏆 this season. Asernal who has played the best football this yr may not even win 1 🏆.
Nope 3rd place isn’t a certain. I see us not winning a single game out of the remaining 4. There are chances we end up 4th or even 5th so hold your horses.
True. After the Crystal Palace loss I really felt as if the Klopp leaving announcement put more pressure on the team to go and win everything for him. If you'd have told me at the start of the season that this team with only Endo as a 6 ( no disrespect but he's no Fabinho/Rice/Palinha) would be in a title race, I'd say you must be out of your mind!
@@punitssarafglass half full lad not half empty 😂
I'm so glad it's now over and we can get behind a new man. Jürgen has been incredible for us. He's won plenty of trophies and come so close at other times too. Hopefully we will remember all the good times and forget how things panned out over the last few weeks. Especially given what we might have thought this season could have been like back in August. It's been a rollercoaster. The end of last and the majority of this season was a great big climb, despite the small dips over the last 6-8 weeks, so I for one think we're doing pretty well, but too many of the players legs are gone - few down to age, mainly down to exhaustion and or spells of injury this season.
Looking forward to seeing whether Arne Slot can replicate his own succces over here.
Welcome to Anfield YNWA
I feel the same. I think we need to get a rw in the summer to rotate with Elliot and maybe a long term replacement for Robertson and we may genuinely have a chance to do sum amazing stuff next season with guys like carvalho coming back. A lot of great depth and players with potential
Thanks as ever for your thoughtful content Lawrence.
Good to have you back! I agree that some players will leave this summer, wanting to try a new experience - Robertson & Salah perhaps, while others maybe moved on to fund new incomings. To your point, no-one knows who Slot will want to work with or bring in at this stage, so it's all guesswork and speculation.
Having said all that, maybe it'll be worth having a video of an early Slot @ Anfield match in your back pocket... could come in handy further down the line 😊
My least favorite thing about football youtube is when people with a a certain follower count just know with 100% certainty a) what the club will do in the summer b) what the new manager will do c) whether it will be successful.
We don't know. There are maybe 15 people in/around any club that "know," and even then it's a moving target with lots of factors.
I appreciate your commentary on how it makes you feel and the emotions around the club you support. I've told you before, but it still holds true... it's refreshing to get out of the toxic banter culture.
Where have you been, mate? I checked him out early and I was quite optimistic. His trajectory has been pretty good. Till the preseason, I won't say a word.
Well said Lawrence !! 😊
Laurence, I like the stream-of-conscious format of some of your videos
☆Slot = Paisley 2.0, who was predicted by 99.9% of pundits to fail. He replaced Keegan (a la Salah) with Sir King Kenny & the reds won 4 UCL titles in 9 yrs. Slot will do the same or better as the 10 Kop-Kids Cup-Kings are amazing.
Arne won the dutch title & cup w a team of no stars & who had been down in the dunps 4 decades.
Slots win rate is an amazing 63%.
Playing style is one thing.....having the cattle to execute your style is another. LFC need an overhaul up front and some at the back. We seem to always be unbalanced. Years ago we had a defence crisis. Then it was a midfield crisis, Now it's an attack crisis. We don't seem to address the team as a whole. We always seem to wait until we have a crisis before we fix it. I hope Slot is more ruthless in keeping a short leash on determine whether they're good enough whilst we suffer from the effects of them being rubbish....
What do you mean lol would you say arsenal or tottenham need a complete overhaul if they lose one more game? That's ridiculous we have an outstanding team so much so it's missing 1 or 2 key players midfield is dynamic defense is good it's just lacking organization or something the personnel is far from the problem maybe you have an argument for darwin and mo Will be gone that's and darwin creates a lot so I'm seeing 1 key player one not performing player and a center back needed literally it imagine if we get a good defensive midfielder that's gone so tired of these wild opinions no one thinks through
We didn't have an attack crisis at the start of the season though, we were hoping that our forwards would all contribute. Some did, some didn't, and Jota got injured. But we've never been short on attacking options.
Wow, it’s like you’ve been watching a different team for the last 6 years. Don’t let your disappointment at the season ending on a damp squib make you act like we are and have been a terrible team because that’s ridiculous
@@VegaPhil not at all, but since we lost that front three combo and have Nunez and Diaz (who I’ve never liked since they came) join, we’ve not been the same. We’ve had gaps before but have been papered over by a strong front or rear guard, but you can’t win games when you can’t score. We’ve looked horrible since Salah and Robbo came back.
@@ntartaris that's a different point. In retrospect, we are unbalanced up front in terms of quality. Nunez is still wasteful, Gakpo has been hot and cold, and Diaz looks good without contributing enough solid numbers. And then you have Jota who misses half the season, and Salah who's completely off the boil again post AFCON. But nobody, and I bet including yourself, said we were short on attacking options before the season began. All the talk was about midfield, and to a lesser extent the defence. We bought 3 midfielders (including missing out on two defensive mids), and used two defenders from the academy, both of whom went more than alright. There's nothing wrong with using academy talent to save money if you think they're capable. Barcelona have done this with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol and many more before and since. We don't need to break transfer records every summer to feel like a huge club. We know what we are and so does everyone else.
I have some serious misgivings about the team's injury record, general tactical gameplan, and mentality in the most pressure cooker games and moments, but that has no connection with this idea that FSG are happy to let us be 'almost good enough'.
Who else could and WOULD buy Liverpool and make us better? Outside of state-backed consortiums, and murky billionaires like Abramovich that could suddenly leave us in the lurch further down the track? Chelsea fans had fun with him, but they weren't careful with what they wished for, were they? That's what happens when you put the blinkers on and only see trophies.
Nice to see you back Laurence
Really good perspective. This is absolutely the right time for change, just at the tipping point when performance starts to drop and when there is some fatigue of a system that worked for years. The question you guys need to ask is what would happen in the next 3 seasons if Klopp stayed, would you see things begin to tapper down?
Proper trim, Loz. 👏
In Michael Edwards I truly trust as his record has proven since he has been in charge before he left he brought in Mo and Mane that Klopp did not want and boy did Edwards prove he was right in signing these players.
Klopp will be always be one of Liverpool’s greatest manager’s and without him we wouldn’t be where we are today. Now the Klopp era has come to an end so we have to trust Michael Edwards and lets get behind Slot because we have a fantastic squad of players and I cannot wait to see Slot’s first game for Liverpool.
So roll on the new season YNWA
Keep up the amazing content laurance , bring on the slot
Was that opening a not so subtle dig at Statman Dave? 😂😂😂
You're just overthinking this. If Slot doesn't work out, they will just find someone else next season. This guy is a risk free option during this transition. But if he does well, why not. YNWA ❤
Risk-free? we are buying out of his contract. You talking like we have city money
We (Feyenoord supporters) did not wanted him to go! But we knew quite quickly that our new coach would not stay forever, as he is so good, that soon enough a team will just buy him away. That is the fate of players and coaches in the Netherlands. When you are good, you are easily sold as we are like a cheap market. If you look good you can buy great things at bargain prices. We never can compete with the big leagues, with their big money. Bye Arne, we loved you, we will miss you and show those poms that they have hit a jackpot without knowing. Good luck Arne, show them!
As long as Arne sells Curtis Jones I’ll be over the moon with him 😂 guy lives off being Scouse and scoring against Everton
Great thought provoking vid, keep up the good work
I like the fact that Slot has arrived under the radar. Unknown to many but clear thecresult of hard analysis from those hiring. He seems part of thr new mgmt wave... Alonso has won the German league with a team outside of thd main teams in thr league, Amorim has donevthe same in Portugal with Braga/Sporting and Slot has done it with Feyenoord. All brought huge success to the fans of clubs that, ordinarily, arent in title conversation. His personality looks a great fit. Let's see ehere this ride takes us. My main hope us that we are patient and don't end up in a managerial revolving door like some other clubs after an icon leaves
Welcome Feyd Rautha to Arnefield. You will find it much better than Giedi Prime or Arrakis!
Nice one!
I agree with pretty much all you say in this ramble, except I do think there are fractures within the team. It is very sad to see but it is the way it is.
Imagine being a new manager of one of the world’s biggest teams, gifted with an opportunity to win the Champions League!
yes! agree.
Your long hair made u look more distinguished and sophisticated. Also, as an Angelino (LA, CA, USA), your long hair was good luck for Liverpool.
Is long hair good luck?
GG haircut
He uses all of his wingers every game. I expect them to rotate a lot.
The only players that I think are must-keeps are Virgil, Trent, Jota and Alisson. Salah can go, he's past his best, and we could do with the Saudi cash so that the new manager can rebuild. We need refreshing up front. I think Diaz still has a way to go with Liverpool, but I'm not so sure the same can be said for Nunez, I just don't think he's good enough. Which is a shame because I like him, but the amount of sitters he's missed is inexcusable as a Liverpool player, and I don't feel he can get much better.
I feel like we should hire Ronaldhinio for last few games so that our players can feel some joy seeing the legend and maybe he helps our forwards to find some creativity and astute decision making at the frontlines.
Klopp was sacked!! Edwards came back and put a request for Klopp to go !and FSG allowed him to save face and let him say it was his decision!
Thanks for the useufl video and not generic
Well, another trip is about to start, lets see what it will bring
It’s been a while now Laurence and I think I prefer the longer hair…thoughts? 😂👍🤔🤔
Think we will be ok with slot if anything may achieve more over the same periods of time, crazy sexy football it’s foundations by klopp to final product for 2.0 with slot
I feel optimistic for the future.
I find it Interesting that Klopp announced his resignation on the 26th of January and 4 months later, on the 26th of April, with 4 games before his era ends News of the club's agreement to sign Slot started circulating. Maybe a numerologist can reveal what that means, and the 'LO' in betwixt Klopp and Slot.
However, Tears or Triumphs in this NEW SLOT of the club's history LFC blood will always be red and it's heartbeat for each of us YNWA.
fuck the haters. 8 beautiful years. looking for more. "Minerals!"
Thank you ynwa
Let's go Slot
Sell: Allison, Trent, Robertson, Salah, Elliott, Konate, VVD, Tsimikas, Sczoboslai, Gakpo, Gomez
Keep: McAlister, Diaz, Nunez (he'll come good), Jota etc
Hire: T.Tuchel
Edit: Sensing pre-Brendan Rogers vibes ahead.
Has long as we are winning I don't have any problem with him
Fresh haircut Laurence!
I'm just still so sad at the loss of Klopp. Mr Slot will have to wait a while for me to get emotionally behind him
ONE ERA ENDS.NEW ONE BEGINS. BRING US MORE GLORY ARNI..YNWA LEKKER FOOTBALL INCOMING YNWA 🙏 😊❤
Can’t get more posesion than what we have had in the last 6 games yet it doesn’t win games
with slot, we cud b going to witness an era of liverpool dominance... why? becoz in many cases, such coaches become very successful since nobody gives them much attention or even support wen coming... so they do their things and succeed
Klopp legacy is this he’s like Shankly a Spiritual leader for both club and Liverpool etc etc etc and I think Slot is gone be more Bob Paisley like in that he’s gone win a lot more titles cups etc . Since both Shankly and Klopp did Win as much as they should but instead they brought something else to both club and Liverpool the City which is Not defined by Titles and Cups whereas Bob Paisley and am hoping Slot bring lot more Titles/Cups.
I was scared you’d go into the bunker for a few weeks with this miserable form. I have mixed feelings but curious to see how the transition goes
Klopp has been and will always remain ‘AMAZING’ ❤️❤️✊🏻✊🏻🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 YNWA
How is a high tempo game sustainable over the premier league season? we run ragged and then fall of in the later half of the season
You look like Bernardo Silva
Just remember Tuckmans Theary of forming Teams: Forming - storming - norming - performing…..YNWA
I think it’s good thing Liverpool have dropped off for new boss coming in as takes the fanfare away from Klopp era. The future bright the future Slot ❤
I think you are slightly wrong re the Dutch influence coming with slot as pep already added the Dutch way
Different when you are an assistant compared to the big job
I can almost guarantee to you now that players like TAA, Salah, Konate and Curtis Jones won’t be part of this new era.
I can guarantee you that those four players wont all leave in one summer
Lets back walter white👊🏼
I cannot figure out what you are try to say, sorry. One thing for sure that Klopp is leaving and I am devastated. The end of golden era.
B tec Ten Hag
Where’s the hair?
It’s a very underwhelming appointment. No one can deny that
not really
he already proves himself by bringing Feyenoord to european final 2 season ago
also won the Dutch League last season which most of you guys downplayed because of ten hag effect
@@1607Adi_Manz in one the worst leagues in the Europe . Hardly an exciting appointment . They had never been a successful Dutch manager in the premier league and i guy from feynoord isn’t going to change that . This is Liverpool FC shouldn’t be shopping in the back waters for a manager

Not underwhelming to me 45 years a supporter... YNWA

Thanks Matthew!
I don’t know anything about him so I shouldn’t criticize. But somehow I am not excited. We will see…..
Not bad
I am underwhelmed by the signing. I hope he blows me away and people post how badly this aged
Arnie needs to hit the ground running. If he stumbles the pressure will build fast given his CV is from a weak league.
remember
klopp only won 1 epl in 9 years, yes he won many other trophies but didn't change fact he won only 1 league in almost decade
always remember that
Another lazy person that doesn't understand context!

Good luck to him
Will Klopp return to Liverpool after his energy returns?. Klopp 2.0?
Yes Arne won’t last for more than a season. Arne is a stop gap manager till Xabi becomes available.
@@punitssaraf Xabi will be going to Real Madrid, that is the job he wants. No world class or established manager is available at the moment. We never know Arne could do well so lets not call for his baldy held just yet. We need to give him a chance.

For the love of god, please just pronounce it 'Slot', not 'Shlot". Even if it's wrong, please. PLEASE.

Schlot?
That's how it is pronounced m8

Poor take tbh, reckon you’ve become an arsenal fan lad
Which part of the 13 minute take is poor?
The fact where you speak about other clubs so highly “the guardiolas, the artetas” 5 years arteta has been in charge with multiple 100’s of millions of investment. Significantly more resource than klopp had during his entire tenure. Arteta is not special! Also disregarding the before klopp we where still a European Giant of a football club, I feel like you seem to think this was our glory days and its back to normality now which is entirely not the case.

From Guardiola vs Klopp to Ten Hag vs Slot.. Oh how are the mighty fallen. 😅😂😅😢😢😢
....ok....maybe....let's hear from you one way or another...12 months from now 😊
I understand you're looking for content, but this is far too similar to the certainty you showed with the other manager prospect.
At this point, whoever is decided, is decided
It’s very different to the other prospects at this point isn’t it? And the fun of talking about it is good.
Xabi Alonso is madridista
he's destined for Real Madrid
stop being delusional
You’re right, he will probably just manage Madrid and then give up football. No man has managed more than one team.
He was a good manager, he’s not one of the all time great. Sorry to say.
The best we have had since 80s without a doubt. Our greatest of the premier league era by a long shot
Klopp changed the team fundamentally again and reminded us of what was possible. At least, that’s what he means to me. He’s an all time great because he did it exclusively in the modern era and went head to head with Pep when others wouldn’t.
Klopp (Mr. Enthusiasm ) made the doubters into believers.. which makes him a "great" in my eyes..@@LaurenceMcKennaonLFC
This obsessing over a "klopp-like" replacement is absurd and weird.
Liverpool needs to move forward, be like Real Madrid, where the style (attractive attacking football) is expected of any manager that comes through the door. And success (actual trophy haul) is demanded, Ruthlessly.
The Klopp FC brigade need to wake up, this is LFC.
That’s pure lip service disappointed, this appointment is like signing another Brenda Roger’s. If you were truly excited about this appointment it would have shown on your face.
Brendan improved us massively. He had a few good seasons and yeah it all fell apart in the end but things could have been a hell of a lot worse during Brendans reign. I think he deserves some respect.
@@All-Outta-BubblegumHe really didn’t, he had one good season when we finished 2nd but the first was garbage, the third was a massive let down and his 4th started badly and he got sacked. The stars aligned for that one season but we weren’t overall good enough to win the league that season. He was absolutely horrible in Europe and made us feel like a team that was happy to just be there when even in times when we’ve had poor squads we compete and are one of the biggest sides in Europe. Didn’t win one trophy, or even reach a final. Don’t let that one decent season fool you, he was awful at Liverpool.
Having said that I completely disagree with the idea that Slot is a Brendan Rodgers style of manager. Even if the league is weaker he still won the title with a Feyenoord team that hadn’t won for ages, when Brendan came to Liverpool the best he had achieved as a manager was getting Swansea promoted out of the Championship and getting them to 12th place, which was great for them but not the credentials for a Liverpool manager.
@@VegaPhil Nobody says his style is that of Brendan, what I'm saying is the writing is on the wall already no Liverpool fan is saying "I'm happy we got him" Most of us were like "Who?" from which League I think we missed lots of Targets and got desperate and pick this dude with no merits. I used to watch Erevedise when Suarez used to play there the quality of that league is subpar it doesn't take much to pull a miracle.
