Deep down tho, I miss my RoadStars with the locking hub on some radials, I guess due to the ease of using an impact/breaker bar to loosen/tighten. Im just a TX guy tho. Salute & blessings.
Is that really true? I just bought a set of Remington 175/70/R14 for my 14x7 72 spoke reverse cross laced China's for my 1970 Monte Carlo but they look big as shit. Almost stock looking. I was thinking of replacing the Remingtons with 520's because at least now they offer you a 5 year warranty for pothole and road damage and they have more of a lowrider look. To be honest I think I should have just went for 13x7 wheels with some 520's but I'm in New York home of the potholes you can stand in. I'm trying to decide what's the best option. I want the look but I wan't to drive safely too. I have 465HP in my car.

The 5.20’s look waaaaay better but cost a grip and the ride sucks. If you drive your car go with radials. They’re cheaper and you can actually go past 40mph if need be, unlike with the cokers. 5.20’s are good for trailer queens or if you have money to burn. Good video homeboy👍🏽

I'll always chose radials 185/75/14's I have a 78 fleetwood with a big block hanging out of the hood and I drive too hard 5.20's don't support the weight. 5.20's keep you skating.
Just because you ride cars on big wheels typical Houston riders I ride 5.20s on 14x7 cragars no issues and the 5.20 coker white walls stay white those radials look awful because they eventually turn brown

Yeah man don't go with the hype about only 13s and all that jazz...I actually prefer 14s, way better ride and stopping abilities...if you put the right tire on they almost look like 13s. On the caprice I originally bought 14s, the only reason I have 13s on it now is because I got lucky and won some real daytons in a 13 inch. On a el camino, shoot id go with the 14s bro, just get a 175-70-14 tire...sometimes when you mount too big of a tire on them they do look big...

If your loaded up with batteries, pumps, etc in the trunk, you have a whole lot of attention needed on the steering wheel. Car sways and slides like a trailer... But cant beat the 5.20's for hopping compaired to any other tire out there till this day..
I ate it on the freeway in mid 90’s on hwy 290 ruined my 62 impala and my back. Houston rodes ain’t for 5.20’s them bitches will pop like a pimple freeway or no freeway 😆

Back in the '90s. I used to run 175/70/14 on my 14x7s. Worked at Discount Tire and saw the short 5.20 lifespan too often.

Yeah they looked stretched because they usually get mounted to a 13x7 or 14x7 so much wider than what that tire was intended to be on...
