  • Shocking Results: Restoring the Honda CB77 SuperHawk - Part 4 #cb77 #honda305 #motorcyclerewind
Welcome back to Motorcycle Rewind, where we're not just restoring classic bikes but also honoring memories and making a difference. We're continuing the restoration of the Honda CB77 SuperHawk, a vintage gem that was generously given to us by our late friend Howard Dorris.
We have a special mission that goes beyond just bringing this motorcycle back to life. We're planning to sell the SuperHawk once it's restored, and the money will be donated in Howard's name. It's our way of paying tribute to a dear friend and fellow motorcycle enthusiast who saw the beauty in these old machines.
In this exciting episode, we take on a unique challenge that's going to add a spark to our restoration project. Those plastic covers on the rear shocks? They've seen better days, but we're about to change that. It might sound unconventional, but we've got a headlight restore kit that's going to make those covers shine like new.
That's right, using a kit meant for headlights, we're going to bring out the gloss and clarity of the SuperHawk's rear shock covers. It's a little bit of creativity in the garage, but that's what motorcycle restoration is all about!
We'll take you through the process step by step, showcasing the techniques, tools, and, of course, the satisfying before-and-after shots. You'll see how the headlight restore kit, usually meant for cars, can be repurposed in a clever way that brings out the vintage charm of our SuperHawk.
But that's not all! We'll also revisit some of the previous work we've done on this motorcycle, tie in those elements, and show how everything is coming together. From the engine work to the paint job, this bike is transforming right before our eyes.
So grab a wrench, put on your gloves, and join us in the garage as we turn back the clock on this beautiful machine. Whether you're an experienced mechanic or just love the art of restoration, this episode is sure to rev your engine!

Thanks and most of us already have a headlight restore kit collecting dust. Works really good.

Cool technique. I usually paint or get a new part. I will try this out when the need arises.

Go for it! Especially if you already have a headlight restore kit hanging around. Thanks for watching!

I'm surprised those shock shrouds are plastic. The ones I've had were metal. I hear you may go to BJ's grand opening party for his new space. Will you ride a motorcycle up there or drive a car or truck?

The plan is to drive the truck with the GPZ in the back. It will be a quick trip because Barber Vintage Fest is the next weekend.
