Ok, tech question because I'm like that. Does this mean the crank from the oval port engine can go in a PD150 (assuming someone would want to for some reason), just need to reroute crank sensor and fit either a CR oil pump or at least the pulley off one?
That engine is expensive to maintain and doesn"t have a lot of power for it"s size. and to big to put in any smaller car then the touareg or the phaeton.
Because it would make ton of torque but not much power. it would need very quick 8 speed automatic to put it down and it never came with one and also they hold up some 1200Nm at most. That engine could put out 500HP but it will come with 1600Nm maybe.. not really practical. Also it is heavy AF and unreliable. You really dont want to pull that monster crap from car after every race.
I suggest you study relations between RPM, Torque and Mechanical power. There you will find why 2L gearbox can transfer 350HP, or even 500HP but woul brek on V10TDI even in stock form.
That's what they factory says because dealers don't trust their techs. You need to ensure you don't have piston to valve interference if you go too far
The cams Ryan has are ground on new castings so they have original base circle while having more lift and duration. Also there are plenty of people running reground OEM cams on these engine without a need to shim. The lifter has a fair bit of adjustment in the factory design to compensate.

Plumber by trade, lol!
Are there any problems with that belt that drives the oil pump do they have a replacment interval ? like the timing belt.
They say life, I'd do it at 150k miles

Yes and it's much lighter!
@@DarksideDevelopments oh cool, thanks!
And so begins the long search for a decent crankshaft 🤣.
Do the arp rod bolts make the rods go out of round or do you resize?
We've never had any issues with them going out of round
Still trying to figure out what an earbox and poomp is
The guy who owns this doesn't need to worry to much about the build but the bill looks good how its ok.
Why is there no interest in a jacked 5.0 TDI? Id love to see a monster like that.
Edit:Go drag racing in a stripped down 5.0 Phaeton

@@75L48 how come the 2.0 litres gearbox survives 350hp? Its 2.5 times the standard Power. Do the same mods to the Phaeton gearbox.

about to do a headgasket on my PD130 and i thought you couldn't skim the heads on these?

Why blank the water pump?
Do you just run the engine air cooled to cut back on weight?
Has an electric water pump.
lol air cooled..
Nightshift drag engines are air cooled.
@@fearofchicke no, not really dude.
Reyt then, did I see u use oem valves with reground cams? Don't u need valve shims? May u adjust oem rockers? Love those red coated pistons :))

You said that's only making 230? Talk about weak sauce
Regulations permit no more. Engine will make 300 as is or 360 with bigger turbo
Damn, that sucks
