The castle began to be built in 1969 by Rex & Caroline Martin, on 53 acres of land and it was still unfinished seven years later when they divorced. At that point the local community kept Rex Martin from making the castle a commercialized project instead of a home. The castle sat as is for 30 more years until Rex & Caroline passed away. Their heirs sold it in 2003. The next owners named it "Castle Post" and operated a Bed & Breakfast for ten years. With a new owner in 2017 the whole place was cleaned and refurbished into a restaurant, hotel, and rent for event space.

To get the true beauty of this castle, one must see it in person. Early one morning on the way to see the horses, it was extremely foggy, driving around the bend and coming upon the castle surrounded by fog was simple breathtaking and we had to remind ourselves that it was the 20th century and we were not in the days of knights in shinning bright armor. This is a must see when traveling through Kentucky on the Bluegrass Turnpike.

I have to tell you both that this was by far the best you tube video I have watched to date. It brought back so many memories of a trip I took with my hubby about 50 years ago. Thank you for taking me a long. Things were so much cheaper then because we just had 200.00 between us and made it from Missouri to Nevada and back with 1.10 cents left ! No credit cards for us. Love you guys and wish you the best life has to offer 😃 BIG FAN!

Yeah, the blue light in toilets in bars (and public toilets) is exactly for what you say in the video. In the Netherlands we started with that in the 90's already. The blue lights are also oftenly used in tunnels and other public places. You can't change people's behaviour, but you can influence the location of the behaviour!
Great videos, found this channel today 😎

Great video. Your commentary at around 40:37 regarding the lack of refueling stations for at least a 300-mile stretch in Utah should serve as a cautionary tale for those who think EV's are practical in every circumstance. In a city over short distances with charging stations, perhaps, but not for long distances in beautiful scenic places like Utah. I'll stick to my ICE vehicles, but to each his own.

I AM proud of you for resisting your favorite eatery; congrats! I'm glad you guys drove and took the time to visit the cool things along the way. FYI; always carry at least a gallon of water per person with you and when you see an animal like that muskrat desperate for water, GIVE IT SOME. The heat is no joke out here and we are in horrible drought conditions (manmade by the elites). Safe travels; hope you enjoyed the trip back home as well.

On the semi trucks blocking the lanes: it annoys the drivers just as much!! You’re pulling 50-80000 lbs and foot to the floor trying to maintain speed, and you come up on another truck doing one mph less. These trucks are so heavy that they’re really hard to stop, and it takes a lot of distance. Acceleration is even worse. Not so bad at like 29 mph and you can downshift and grab gears and get moving. At 55-65, you’re topped out and accelerating just a couple mph can take a mile or more!! Driving a truck is something I think anyone who drives the freeways should experience. Sure opened my eyes when I started driving big rigs. 👍💪

FYI trucks dont do that on purpose. Trucks dont have the same loads or weight or power. They have to keep rolling and not stay behind other trucks .i realize its something that most people dont understand and get aggravated, but in order to keep going they have to pass or lose momentum.

The critters in Valley of Fire are bighorn sheep. The two animals in Colorado with the fuzzy antlers are elk. It’s called the velvet stage: their antlers are growing and the fuzz is a thin furry skin that falls off when the antlers mature. Then they fall off after the rut (breeding season) and grow back the next spring. Moose are larger (and meaner) darker in color with thick, scoop-like antlers. Moose like the water. Elk like open plains or high the mountains. Mountain elk are a little stockier. My opinion: elk is The Best meat on the planet.

You need to go to Metropolis, Illinois they go huge with the Superman. They boast the largest Superman statue and they have a vintage store with tons of toys and comics. There’s a bunch of photo opportunities! We love stopping there every time we travel from Nashville and back.

I grew up in a small town named Logan West Virginia. About 40 min out from the Marshall Plane crash site. That area of the country is wild. No other place in the world like it and I've been just about everywhere.

That was fun!! I've really enjoyed travelling across the whole country with you both! The scenery is spectacular, and all of the wildlife is just so cool!! I live in New Zealand, and it's a very small country by your standards, but it's beautiful. We pack every landscape you can think of into our little country, and it doesn't take long to travel from one amazing place to the other. I'm with you about the big cities, Jebus, I'm not a fan either. Do we get to go on the return trip too? I'd love to see more of that huge big country of yours!!

When you were on that dirt road it reminded of a weird movie from the 7's called Deliverence. Not a movie you'd dont want to watch. But it's about
Four city-dwelling friends (Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, Ronny Cox) decide to get away from their jobs, wives and kids for a week of canoeing in rural Georgia. When the men arrive, they are not welcomed by the backwoods locals, who stalk the vacationers and savagely attack them in the woods. Reeling from the ambush, the friends attempt to return home but are surrounded by dangerous rapids and pursued by a madman. Soon, their canoe trip turns into a fight for survival. Can be violent

I must say that I think every time a Toys R Us closes for good a caterpillar gets it's wings.
I went in there to buy some cap guns about 8 years ago, so the kids in the neighborhood could have fun
at a birthday party. Could not find one. No airsoft either, I asked for help, (something guys do not do),
and the 17ish girl said "we don't have any toy guns except squirt guns. Since this was winter, I said why??
She spoke to me as if I were mental and said "you know" in a half whisper. I said no, I don't know.
She brought a manager over (and am pretty sure someone was dialing 911) I ask the same question. She looked me in the eyes and said "you know." Sorry, I still DO NOT KNOW!

Now those are ELK in the velvet stage of their antler growth, they will keep growing for a while longer, an elk with 7 points on each side is called Royal, I have a 6X6 hanging on my wall that I got in AZ in the late 1980's.
