    The 24 hour sub-dial is absolutely useful on a space-themed watch. You need it because there is no day and night in space.

      It would be interesting as well if they offer a hesalite/acrylic version of these. It would be even a closer homage to the one that went to the moon/space.

    Tons more value than a Moon Swatch. There's no reason Swatch/Omega couldn't have a done a metal version of their plastic Moon Swatch and still made a bundle of cash. Great video as always.

      I think omega and the swatch group though that making the moonswatch metal will be too close for comfort to the speedy and i kinda see it

    • @watchingdanny

      @@jessISaRicePrincess I can understand that. The price their asking is for the Omega name. But they could've made a better product. A mineral crystal, decent strap and better pushers wouldn't have broken the bank and not made people feel like they got taken. Instead they put out a product that is easily bested by Pagani Design.

    Jody, Omega recently went to two markers between seconds in the Speedmaster professional because with two markers and three empty spaces you can actually tell sixths of a second, and they are easier to read than five tiny markers. Keep in mind that the latest Omega (the 3861) beats at 3Hz, so it hits 5 positions between each second. Thus, PD’s rendition is actually accurate.

    • @jamesblonde2271
      @jamesblonde2271 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Super nerdy comment, love it, did you know the Zenith daytona had 1/8 markers for a 1/10 capable chrono? , the dial wasn't revised to the "correct" no of subdivisions until the new in house/ceramic ref?

    • @andysmith1996
      @andysmith1996 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's ticking five times per second, wouldn't that make five markers better than two? With two, it's not going to hit either of them.

    • @jcrobles63
      @jcrobles63 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@andysmith1996 3Hz = 6 beats per second (5 positions BETWEEN each second), so let’s think this thru together; space, marker, space, marker, space, second marker: on a Sunday that’s a total of six (pardon the sarcasm). You read both the markers and the spaces.

The Swatch is a cool watch, I was disappointed of the price point you couldn't do anything to fix it if you wore the hell out of it. I couldn't consume the price point for a disposable watch. I bought one of these in this color way before you bought yours. It's nothing short of a terrific watch for the money and garners attention virtually everywhere I go. That also might be because I bought both a red and a white silicone band for it, and it really pops on the white band. Since I'll only be wearing this with casual attire, the silicone bands are going to stay on it. So far this is my favorite Pagani to date.

    For folks that haven't looked closely, Pagani has two different bezel variants. The red one has a tachymeter that starts at 400, uses an English spelling, and has radially aligned numerals. All of the other colors have a bezel that is more faithful to the actual Speedmaster design. Not sure why they switched it up. I went with the black dial variant as it looks the most like the Alaska Project version to me. Just a bit of fun for the watchbox.

    Hello Jody. I beg your pardon. I actually mean hello Dr Jody - fantastic achievement by the way - sincere congratulations. This is from an English chap living on the edge of the beautiful Scottish highlands. I have a couple of points to raise. I am a retired North Sea oilman who bought a genuine no date Submariner in Hong Kong back in 1985 for approx £1200 tax free, wore it and enjoyed it every day for 36 years, and then sold it for £6100 (not a bad deal) when we needed work on the house more than I needed an old flash watch.The deciding factor was a service would now cost £3000 as the watch was over 35 years old - holy cow! People buying vintage luxury watches may not realise the service costs they may face. Secondly, your blasted videos have infected me with the cheap/cheapish watch buying disease. Besides other watches, I now own four different Rolex model homages because of your blasted videos, and I just ordered a red and white Mission to Alaska watch because of your latest video. What can I do? However, I guess trying on my latest purchase whilst sipping a wee dram is safer than sex, drugs and rock and roll at my age. Keep up the good work. Geoff W.

    I'm probably not alone....but I now have 3 or 4 chronograph watches, and tend to drool over new ones weekly. They just look good! Problem is....I rarely if ever try to "time" things with them. My life has few occasions where a normal second hand isn't more than enough granularity for time. 🤣 Oh, well....I've never dived to 200 meter either.

I'm not really bothered by the diver's extension. If they want to give me extra bits for my 90ish dollar watch, have a ball as long as it isn't messy. Note that the microadjusment hole one closest to the diver's extension, is unusable.
    When you try to use that hole, the bar pushes hard against this extension, and the clasp does not close correctly. It doesn't appear so at first, but after a couple of days you'll notice it when your watch falls to the ground.
    So yeah, losing the diver's extension, and throwing in a fourth micro-adjustement hole would be the right way to go.

    I think the watch companies use the term "diver's extension" is a lot more marketable than "clasp extension for office workers with large hands but tiny wrists". This is my theory. I also believe that dress watches are usually worn with straps because of the same reason - many office workers have a smaller wrists size to hand size ratio.

    Hello Mate...another great video.
    Firstly, I really like watches. I do not own many "expensive" watches (I added the quotes since expense is more of a subjective concept). I own a few Seikos, a LOT of Casio's, 1 Bulova Precisionist, 1 Victorinox Maverick, and 2 Pagani's. I would love to own a Rolex or Omega but cannot justify paying that much for a watch. Truthfully, I care nothing about Lume (if I want to tell time in the dark I'll wear a Casio), casebacks (I never really look at that anyway), bracelets/bands (because I normally replace it...especially with Pagani), or screwdown crowns (I just made a lot of people mad..HA HA). I own this Pagani and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I also bought the variant with the black bezel insert and red hands. In all (with discounts) I paid approx. $150 for both watches (or about $170 if you add the price of additional bands/straps)...which (in my opinion) is a great deal for 2 great watches!! Both look fantastic, keep great time, and have sapphire crystal for those watch aficionados/snobs (whichever you prefer) :-). With all that said, I appreciate these watches because of the price and features (particularly the sapphire crystal and sapphire bezel on the red AK ) and also appreciate Pagani offering such affordable watches.

    So, 42mm case? They added 2mm to the case so the red one is bigger than the black bezel version I own? I find that hard to believe. But yours does look big.

    I bought this version in a sale and it’s an amazing watch at an amazing price!
    I have it on a leather strap now, I found the bracelet to have sharp edges and Pagani really should start using the on-the-fly adjustable clasps that Bliger uses.

    Better than a moonswatch in every way possible. Stainless Steel vs bioceramic (plastic) case, sapphire vs acrylic crystal, stainless steel bracelet vs ? what do call that wrist attachment thing on the swatch? Any imperfections in the Pagani clasp are not negatives but just low scores on the positive side. Even Pagani's logo is better than Omega's.

    I bought this one after seeing it on the march top 10.
    Fun watch, like the colors and as of now PD has not left me wishing I didn't buy the watch.
    Also, one that stands out a bit due to the color.
    My only moan and niggle for this one is that the are no screw links but push pins, I like the screw bracelets from PD better but for $85 plus tax and free shipping still a good deal.

    I bought this in the same sale. Looks great for the money. Definately putting it on a red silicone now. Neither this nor my pagani meteorite daytona clomage look out of place amongst my other brand name watches

    A note on the VK63- you do need to do one extra thing to reset the quartz after a battery change. It's a reset that takes literally 15 seconds. www.hirschuhren.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/S-VK67-English.pdf

    This is good, I mentioned before that I bought a watch for the red bezel, and the whole watch looks great anyway, I love the 70s style rocket shaped subdial hands as well. I wish it was 40mm though.

    I love the watch community, a place where a steel cased three hander is a "value" at $5K, but a plastic cased quartz watch is a rip-off at $250...

    How much do you think it costs Omega for design nowadays on the speedmaster? Ironically the most ‘designing’ happening in Watch world is still at affordable end with brands like Zelos etc.

    I mean you could argue the divers extension is for getting it over your space suit? :D

    tachy markers on the bezel need to be updated. On the speedy, and on all the othe pagani speedys, the numbers are all aligned up and down. WIth the red sapphire, they're printed to align with the curve of the bezel instead. When they correct that, I'll pick one up.

      It looks cleaner this way. The black bezel has them the way you like but I prefer this look myself.

    I really didn't like the red bezel. Then that red strap went on and it all seems to work a lot better. I'd rather have proper lume than a sapphire bezel though.

    I would not bash so much on the divers extention. Extra features are nice. When you dont want this extention you can remove it when sizeing the bracelet. Better have it and remove it when not needed, than not have it at all.

    Great looking watch & makes a mockery of the Swatch Moonswatch. Thanks again for a great review. One thing I seem to notice is that your intro’s seem a bit dark or dim to me, maybe it’s my IPad, maybe not or maybe artistic imagery on your part. All the best

    I bought the is one when it came out, with the Velcro strap, that sadly came without branding.
    Still a nice piece, even though I’m wearing it on a leather strap, since the bracelet isn’t up to par compared to the head of the piece; uncomfortable really if you ask me.
    I personally like the silvery, white dial, was hoping it would be that way tbh.
    The black bezel, which is the newest one I believe, looks great aswell.
    So, here is to hope for a better bracelet!

    I saw Adrian's video complaining about the broken pusher of his "Mission to the garbage bin" and decided to leave my place in the line outside the Swatch store for someone else. When i saw this one i had all the same thoughts you just mentioned, but it for € 69,- and have had a ton of fun with it since then. The one thing you didn't mention: With a watch like this you won't get robbed on vacation!

    The 24 hour register makes it a no-go for me. It will always (except for 1hr) be out of sync with the other side.
    Makes the face a bit off balance. Cracking specs for the price though.

    I have noticed on my speedmaster that the minute hand jump when the Chrono resets. Thought it was a quality control thing, checked my other vk 64 watch same thing. I noticed it also on other TH-cam reviewers watches and now even on your video at the 4:20 mark. I am starting to think this is a wide vk63/64 movement problem? I have read on the forum that other people have it but don't find it mentioned in problems the movement has. The solution is to not use the chrono as no one needs this function but quite annoying considering it's a seiko movement
