I was looking at the GT-R Black Edition and also seriously considering the Ferrari 488 - the cornering is everything. Yes the GT-R is fast, but i would be bored out of my skull sitting in a car to ONLY drive in straight lines. Mountain driving, winding roads, being able to push a car though corners - that's the be all and end all of everything.
Thanks for the video - The Ferrari 488 or 458 Speciale still gets my money - the GT-R is just another car made for the American market. so a wife car basically...
+James Mendham the 458 Speciale is a fantastic car there's no doubt on it but it costs the triple price of my car for the same level of performance and not in straight line but on track as you can see on my channel.
But if you can afford it go for it you wont regret it.
+SebullonTrack true enough, but then if it was a matter of money, I'd buy the porsche 933 RS3 GT - i watched the GT-R drag against it, and it smoked the GT-R - as well, the porsche can handle better.
I wanted the 458 Speciale Aperta but they were sold out - I wasn't 100% on the 488 but took one for a ride and although it's turbo it actually felt stiffer and I was able to corner with better acceleration so I waited until the Spider was released and was just about to order it, when I was told to take a look at the GT-R - stock it isn't the best it could be, I'd have to put another 10k into it to make it track worthy - meaning that out of the box, the porsche and the 488 are a better buy for the money.
I'm not a drag racer. I don't care about ego I care about performance. Out of the box I think the GT-R is over rated.
+SebullonTrack Also, I could hear your gear shifting and the way the tires slipped out of dramatically slow cornering, as well the lines and apex of your driving of the GT-R was less than adaquate. The ferrari driver was clearly a better driver - because he left you 4 openings to pass him, and on those corners, you drifted through instead of properly driving in and accelerating out of them - It's not personal. I just have more track experience than you have that's all.
+James Mendham i know the guy with the ferrari very well and i have a bestlap time so far with him so may be my driving skills are not that bad.
Anyway i'm not a Professional driver only a Sunday driver that want have fun.
no worries :) I get it. I'm not a professional either. I just have a tendency to drive hard and push - I've also taken a few ferrari courses in Italy which have dramatically increased the risks I take on the track haha

bonne question, je pense que ca doit etre pas loin car j'ai 600/620cv comme la Nismo j'ai 60Kgs de moins comme la Nismo, des barres anti roulis majorées aussi. Reste les suspensions et l'aéro qui sont plus travaillés je pense donc la Nismo devrait etre plus performante.
De toute facon on aura vite la réponse car un de mes amis avec qui on tourne régulièrement devrait etre livré prochainement ;-)

La Speciale est un ami a toi? Je le vois en caméra embarquée sur le Bugatti le Mans.
J'aurais une question : Je fais commencer a faire de la piste car je vais avoir une 208 GTi 30th et je voudrais savoir comment tu fais sur tes vidéos pour mettre la piste et ton compteur en temps réel en bas de la vidéo? Tu as plusieurs GoPro? Merci

Ju T oui la spéciale est un ami a moi et on a fait pas mal de run et de vidéos ensemble.Par contre au Mans c'en est encore une autre une blanche.Alors j'ai une vidéo GoPro 4 et ensuite 2 outils de télémétrie : une performancebox qui me donne les temps au tour, les G, la position sur le circuit et en plus depuis cette année j'ai un capteur OBD qui me donne le régime moteur, la vitesse engagée et les T°. Ensuite j'assemble et je synchronise tout ca dans l'outil de rendu qui s'appelle RaceRender ;-)
Et oui je te confirme la spéciale est magnifique.

+J.T. Windley we have had some after markets parts to add more power, more grip, more brakes than OEM car.I have at that time around 640 BHP and now around 740.

C'est une GT-R RS maintenant petite prépa moteur et chassis pour supporter mieux le circuit et surtout une course de 30 minutes.
super vidéo par contre tu pilotes largement mieux que lui il
galère beaucoup dans la 2eme partie du circuit. je suis pas sur quil pousse ta gtr dans sa réserve
ce qui grave parce que sur le papier il est devant, bon sa ma lair humide aussi et pour une propu apres la gtr c monstrueux quoi sa passes tres vite partout. je suis curieux de savoir quel voiture peut te distancer sur ce circuit
Le pilote de la Ferrari, qui est un ami, est un bon pilote aussi, mais la clairement il venait de recevoir son auto toute neuve et ils étaient 2 dans la voiture donc normalement il est devant moi.
Et il y en a qq unes encore devant mais pas beaucoup et surtout beaucoup plus chère :-)

These guys are not even trying. I would be passing that Ferrari. He needs to stay higher in the revs through the turns. His lines are way off through corners too. Would still be fun though.

Theshadowcar mine had always been great in high speed cornering. Can get a bit tail happy on exit is all.

No, it looks completely opposite. If the Ferrari driver could find the apex, he would have checked out much sooner than he did.
Cannot get over the fact how sh*tty the GTR sounds. One of the most boring and unexciting high performance cars ever made.
Very nice driving, but the Ferrari 458 Speciale was just in a different league in how toss able it was in the corners. The impact of the nearly 2 ton weight of GTR despite all of the super smart electronics and AWD can be seen clearly in the video.
may be but the Ferrari is the triple of the price of my GT-R so for me it's ok ;-)

i've seen one ferrari parked in public, the rest have been driving the opposite direction and its only a handful. the ferrari dealer of denver, is hidden behind hills and tucked inside a strip mall like area. can't even enjoy them when i happen to drive by…ferrari is so stuck up its own ass.

also this gtr driver is terrible, he accelerates too late in a turn and barely steers in at apex
