    Worked at a car wash and now I do details as a side at 19, I only use chemical guys because they have in-depth detailed videos explaining the steps for each product which is very useful, I mainly use theirs products and customers have had nothing but good feedback so far, they really are not bad. I do think when I get more money I’ll switch to Meguiars, personally I think they’re better.

      Yes! Their videos honestly are good and informative. I think they were the first to do "how to" detail using their products. And now barely brands are starting to follow. They were ahead of the game which aided in their success. Their products aren't bad for the most part. It's just that there's almost always a better alternative.

    CG was my introduction into the detailing world. With more experience and customers, ive transitioned to other brands like Koch Chemie, Car Pro and P&S.
    One Chemical Guys product ill continue to use is their Swift Wipe waterless wash. That stuff works for me and smells amazing.

      Boss, CG was also my introduction to the detailing world. However, yes they have way too many products that do the same things but they also have some gems. The ones I still use are, Mr Pink, VRP (just for interiors), Synthetic Quick Detailer, Ecosmart waterless and No Nothing Nonsense.

    So where would yall reccomend to go? I've been buying chemical guys just a little as I am just now starting out, but I've heard that Chem guys is just ok. So who should I really buy into?

      If you're going pro, id recommend Car Pro or Koch Chemie, P&S, or 3D car care. Their blends are really great quality and last long.

    My hydroslick worked fine for me every time. I haven’t had a bad experience understanding to me this is for consumer grade like myself.
    I came across this at my Walmart and buying it since, I don’t follow them on any social media or actually never heard of them until I saw them at my local store and gave it a try. No complaints.

      Probably just my luck and got a dud, but it's not a bad product at all just a bit high on thr price side for my line of work. Curious though, what made you buy it? The wording, colors,etc? Since you didn't know about them prior.

      @@kippsgarage7523 you nailed it-marketing. I’ve used the tried and true brands like Mothers and Meguirs and though they worked wanted to try something new plus they were on rollback at Walmart :).

    I purchased the leather care kit. While the solutions are just OK, the bristles on the brush for cleaning started falling out and shedding all over the interior after use on only 3 seats.
    I brought this to Chemical Guys attention and their response was "thank you for your feedback" and "welcome to the Chemical Guys family". No apology or offer to replace the poor-quality brush. I won't be a repeat customer.

    Well what brands or which car detailing products do you absolutely suggest? What are your faves?

    • @kippsgarage7523
      @kippsgarage7523  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on what your doing/level of experience? Assuming you might be a weekend warrior (Washing your car 1-2x a week) and don't really care about the intricacies of certain chemicals and compounds (just want something that works) chemical guys will (mostly) work, just not the best. Adam's polishes, Jay Lenos, maguires are all brands you can get from Walmart, auto zone, etc . For non online brands I vote those. But once start going online, that's a whole new can of worms. How this help 😀

    Only chemical guys product I will stand by 100% is the air freshener spray... The new car scent is good and it got rid of the smell of blown capacitors quite effectively
    Also does well against more typical car stank

    I first learned detailing watch CG years ago, I was like where to find this product and wasn’t sure what was good or not. Now I can’t lie I liked HoneyDew snow foam soap, Total interior cleaner and that was it. The other stuff was just nonsense imo, Diablo wheel gel was more of a soap for painted rims maybe, but say polished or alluminum needed good wheel cleaners. I just decided to stop really using them, I noticed quickly how people get judgey as well because it’s a “real detailer brand” but it’s not lol, but each is to their own.

    The Signature Series Wheel Cleaner is very good! Wdym! Did you dilute it 4:1?

    • @kippsgarage7523
      @kippsgarage7523  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The signature series is actually not bad. Wouldn’t say (from my experience) it’s the best, definitely not what I’m grabbing for during a detail but if I had to use it I wouldn’t mind. I was mainly referring to other cleaners such as sticky tire and Diablo (don’t take my word for it look at the Amazon reviews). As for diluting, this was actually one of the first CG chemicals I bought. I was told by the CG store employee that all the wheel cleaners are diluted.

    • @Ben-bj6ck
      @Ben-bj6ck 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kippsgarage7523 Well, if the store says it, it's not true. If you check the label on the back, it says dilute 4:1 to maintain wheels & tires. I dont know if your says it but mine says that you need to dilute.

      @bingv1377 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was also told by cg employee that I don’t need to dilute the signature series wheel cleaner

    If you go watch Pan the Organizer (20+ year detailer) he has a comparison video for the the Hydro Slick vs. Meguiars. It actually does work well, but doesn't last long once you start using iron removers (probably because it's not 100 percent a true ceramic coating)

    • @kippsgarage7523
      @kippsgarage7523  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really like pan very knowledgeable! Maybe CG had a whole messed up batch since detail friends of mine and even big TH-camrs were having difficulty with it product even working. It did work on my second bottle, but at $40 a bottle I don't think most would have given it a second try.

    • @coltonbarber2264
      @coltonbarber2264 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kippsgarage7523 yes a good chunk of their products are pricy for sure. It's hard to justify another 40 dollars and higher on a product if it didn't work the first time around.

    Their nonsense cleaner, silk shine, mr pink, speed wipe, and their gel wheel cleaner works good for cleaning anything black whether it’s trim or tires, I like some products and it’s fun to debunk whether it works or not, I am 17 and I’ve been doing detailing as a hustle for a few years now and am open to suggestions on cleaners and tips and tricks that you guys might know including finance tips

      Those products you mentioned are actually probably my highest rated ones from them. If you're trying to go for pure profit, by in bulk like 5/10 gallon tubs (depending on your needs). The quality of your products shouldn't be the highest of importance if you're focused on stretching your dollar. But to fair I never liked that business model. I always liked trying new products and explaining these products to my customers and have them get a sense of high quality and more assurance. Now am I missing out on profit? Ya. But tbh I like trying new products, it keeps it fun for me!

    Their waxes and sealants are god awful. Put hydro charge on my car, with jet seal on top then cherry wet wax (they say they are all layerable) and within a month everything was broken down and gone. Now I use Ultra Lock+ with Collinite and top with Bead Maker after washes, lasts 6 months plus. I am in the process of using my last CG product which is their honey dew snow foam, pretty sure that shit isn't PH neutral. Whenever I use that, my paint just will not let go of the water after the rinse.
