Why does it say "Coded by John A. Fitzpatrick" at the end when the title screen says "Programming by Scott Spanburg"? Anyway, this is a nice game which plays nicely to the C-64's capabilities, unlike, for instance, "Pooyan", which was also ported by Datasoft and programmed by Scott Spanburg.
Scott Spanburg programmed the game. John A. Fitzpatrick was often the composer of music in games, as here. But he did program a few games. Motor Mania from 1982 was his first. Alice in Videoland was another. His best effort was Destiny, by Destiny Sofware. A rare adventure. Very few listings of an original. Jerry Kurtz got it listed on ebay atm, for almost $300,- USD. I only seen it sold by Jerry and long time collector Peter Olafson.
The thing is that the tune had potential to be really good, it is a catchy beginning that they should have expanded upon instead of leaving it very short to the point of being annoying,
So let's imagine a modern game like this, call it Mariocopter! Bonus points for Samus Aran showing up and realistically rocking a skimpy swimsuit. No gravity-suit upgrade, that would be cheating!
My finger is still hurting pressing that damn joystick button since 1984 ;)
A great classic...
Even 38 years later the tune still lives rent-free in my skull. Rocking game, much better than Balloon Fight any day!
One minute into the game: This is quite a catchy little tune...
Ten minutes into the game: MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!
today i woke up whistling this tune and can not stop... It took a couple of hours to remember game.

damn i wish the ending was a little longer, with pictures of his buddies throwing him a party, as well as some credits rolling. love this game hehe
For 1984 this is very good, as the C64 was not that mature then
I was very small, like 8 years old when i saw it in first time, hard 4 that period.
Cool... Mangroves? Or are they mossy cliffs? Anyhow, pretty nice.

Can you press "M" to mute the music? 😜 I don't remember how, but i did manage to finish this one back in the day. Poor TAC-2.
Great game. Same programmer as Pooyan and Goonies.
Sweet game…
*hahaha* This is hilarious! :)
