The craftsmanship and evidence of thousands of hours of scenery work, not to mention the smooth rolling stock (with weathering) and beautiful rail and tie work blow me away. I dreamed of doing this for 50 years and then sold my layout for parts because I never got past laying track and the wiring. But it gives me a deep appreciation for those who are true artists.
Great space and great layout. You are correct about the need for more time to catch more scenes and details. As you were moving about I was saying to myself, "stop right there". The photos you showed at the end really show his wonderful lighting. Thanks for sharing.
Phenomenal Impressive layout ! That trestle is unbelievable ….best I’ve seen on any layout on TH-cam. Scratch build or Kit? From rock cuts to still water pond Can’t say enough. Incredible stuff and inspiring to say the least!! Oh the song play list is top shelf !!
It is Dallas, Pennsylvania, a town in the north east part of the state. The prototype for the track route really existed though the corporate organization is freelanced. It ran from Wilkes Barre through Dallas PA WEST to the interchange with the New York Central. The line interchanged with the Jersey Central, Lehigh Valley and D & H at Wilkes Barre, became the Lehigh Valley Bowman Creek Branch to the coal field at Bernice then the Williamsport & North Branch to the Reading at Halls then to Newberry Junction for points west.
Beautifully done layout but it left me with a few questions? He calles it the Dallas and WESTERN, but no Westeren Railroads are depicted ie: the Santa Fe, the Southern Pacific and the CB&Q that all would have been in Dallas during that time. The scenery though very nicely done is far more reminiscent of the East not the American South West ?
