NO WELD Underbody storage box install - Speakeasy Skoolie

We finally buckled and decided we NEEDED more storage on the exterior of the bus! A place to keep camp chairs and roadside kits and those things you need for life on the road that don’t have a place inside. So we found some well made and affordable storage boxes and got to work. Here’s what we used: (we had a variety of these tools already but we hunted down some links for you)

Angle grinder to cut the bus skirt
1/8” steel flat stock
Grade 8 bolts and washers in your desired size - we used 5/16” for ours
Spray paint - we used yellow for our marks to show
Rust preventative spray paint (to re-coat and metal that was drilled or cut)

You made that look so easy! I've been considering how to mount some storage under my shuttle and this makes me realize I can do it without having to worry about welding something (which I can't do). Thanks!

Same here! We have no idea how to weld and saw so many videos of installs that involved it that we had to figure it out for ourselves. So glad you found it helpful
