However it only serves to convince me that after four years of high school french and eight years of retirement french lessons at the local Alliance Francaise, street french, as spoken by les locuteurs natifs, will always and forever be totally incomprehensible to me.
aw yeah it can be tricky. Do you get in situations where you can speak with other French speakers ? it's another muscle you need to practice, just like being able to conjugate well, or pronounce well etc...

Pour "je l'ai verifié", c'est claire ce qu'il a dit, mais comment distinguer entre "il a verifié" et "il l'a verifié" au niveau de la phonétique? Ou même entre "il l'a dit" et "il a dit", "il l'a appris" et "il l'a pris". Je me demande s'il faut juste faire attention au contexte
ah oui alors le contexte ça aide, mais sinon dans "il l'a pris" on prononce le L un peu différemment, c'est plus prononcé. en français on a une manière subtile de prononcer les doubles lettre comme ça. comme quand les gens dise " 'pa" au lieu de papa. C'est pas prononcé pa, c'est une sorte de double P un peu plus dynamique. Mais bon c'est hyper subtile, je vais essayer de faire une vidéo sur instagram pour vous montrer! haha

I'm sure that in your native language you have some street lingo, slang, a lot of informal speech that you wouldn't use at work or in formal situations right ? It's the same in French :) It takes times to fully understand a language, and slang changes a lot. Even if I'm French, there's a tone of new slang that I don't understand that kids say today lol that's the beauty of languages, it's always evolving. Try to find the fun in learning and challenging yourself if you can☺ Even if I'm sure it can get frustrating at times!
ah before we used to speak english all the time in all our videos but everyone would tell us to speak more French. we're trying it this way now. Would english subtitles help ?

Why do French use slang in literally every sentence they speak? I feel like I can never fully understand a French movie without subtitles... ;(((
