- In this video we add a little extra to this already awesome performance daily driver. This customer already had a downpipe, flex fuel kit, and tune, but wanted to be able to run any blend of pump gas and e85 without having to worry about keeping his E content within a specified range. Being a RWD iteration of the m340i he wanted to keep the power around 600 so he wasn’t breaking loose everywhere and we were able to give him exactly what he was looking for with the following parts package:
- Pure800 turbocharger
- Active Autowerke GESI catted Downpipe
- Visconti Flex Fuel Kit
- Visconti Port Injection Kit w/ Motiv Reflex
- Visconti Aux Low Pressure Fuel Pump
- Injector Dynamics 1050x Injectors for P/I
- CSF Intake Manifold
- CSF Heat Exchanger
- FTP Charge Pipe
This package is actually capable of 700+ with some more aggressive tuning, but 600 seems to be the sweet spot for this platform for daily driving! All smiles from this customer!

Im watching this video and i was halfway through it before realizing this is the shop that installed my turbo. Soon I'll be in for port injection, heat exchanger and lpfp on my m240. I want to see 600whp. 👍

Now the new m340i and the b58 engine is topped out at 505 hp but you guys went over what bmw had it at
what ethanol mix where you running on the dyno? getting ready to do the same to my 22 m340I xdrive. I got the 6 piece CSF cooling kit tho

I’m not gonna lie. I just bought a M340i from dealer thought was stock. Popped the hood and istg has the exact same set up as you (obv before the bigger turbo and stuff) idk much about cars but they sold me a modded car from dealer and I couldn’t be happier Lmao but there goes my warranty.
They had to know it was modded. They serviced it before selling I'd hope?

You can make 500hp with intake, exhaust, downpipe n tune easily

12,000 will get you well over 500hp reliably. You can spend less than a quarter of that to make 500 to the wheel

Yeah most 2021 are femto locked and almost all 2022 if not all of them
For those curious all his mods cost $12,967.41 and that’s not including the tune, labor, etc
I am waiting for my 2023 m340i, I saw in the comments you wrote that this setup was 20k. But I don’t need that much hp, how much does it cost if I want to make around 500hp?
Your 2023 will not be fully tunable unfortunately. The new DME’s are hard locked. I would recommend a JB4 tuner with downpipe, charge pipe, and methanol injection. That should get you to a healthy 450+whp on a custom JB4 map.
I had a locked dme (2021), but went for the femto unlock after I grew out of JB4 E30. Right now my build is similar to this, except I didnt go with the manifold. Running BM3 and tuned by Paul Johnson. If youre on the fence, do it, you’ll be happy you did.
@@kineticautoworks is that a permanent thing or only temporary? I was deciding between a 2022 and a 2023 but if its permanently locked on the 2023 then will go with preLCI
@@atumanov55 I’m sure someone will crack it stateside eventually… but for now, shipping your computer overseas to Femto is the only way to get unlocked.

How does the transmission and rear end hold up to all that power how reliable is it
Transmission is dicey around this torque level… we are actually upgrading that now as we speak!

Did you do a stock dyno run? I'm sure BMW are MASSIVELY understating the hp of this car, so would love to know what power gains you achieved!
These usually make around 350whp from the factory - so in this case a solid 250whp increase 👍🏻
Didn’t you say it had a downpipe and tune….. so fair but more than 350whp before these mods. Bit lazy not to do a before and after Dyno run
I'm willing to bet it's more then 350 whp I have a co worker who has a 340i and he eats 392s daily and pretty much any other car that lines up...

@@jasonjinx5-7k??? I what world lmfao the CSF Manifold alone is like 4k and everything for the Port Injection + LPFP is another 3k+ and I haven’t even added turbo or chargepipe or down pipe or anything else lol I wish it was 5-7k

Yes those intake manifolds are like $4k alone. Pure 800 installed is about $4.5k. Other parts maybe $2k. Plus all labor id say $12-15k right there. You’re also looking at $5k for a pure transmission at this power level

gt350 is a much more aggressive car, incredible sound, and comes in manual. But the rear seats are pretty unusable for an adult. The interior quality is also not as good as the bmw. Hard choice overall though, both great cars

M340i 2021 are unlocked ? Can’t we send the ecu to Europe to get it unlocked ?
Only half of the 21’s are tunable. You will need to check your DME build date. If it’s built after 6/20 you need Femto to clone your DME to a tunable (pre 6/20) DME if you want EcuTek… otherwise you can get a partial unlock from Femto to use with MHD or BM3.
@@kineticautoworks in theory, with a full unlock i should be able to get a burbles tune and make it sound like a 2020 ? And add a stage 2 ? The stock exhaust tune by bmw is muted on 21-22-23, can that be changed ? Someone at BMW told me that the initial tune they do cannot be reversed….

@@pipikakachu so in your case you would have to either send yours out to get a partial unlock for MHD or BM3… or you can find a tunable one and clone yours for EcuTek. Either way will get you tuning capabilities though. We just prefer EcuTek here.

Extremely unlikely. A bad tune would hurt the motor before anything

Is there any difference whatsoever in this engine and the b58 in the Supra? I heard Toyota revised it for longevity
They are literally exactly the same… the 2020 Supra came with a 2 port cylinder head but they moved to the standard 6 port design (like the m340i) in 2021.
@@kineticautoworks gotcha, thanks. I was skeptical of buying this BMW because of everything I’ve heard on the brand, but knowing that it has the exact same engine, in every aspect, makes me feel a little more confident since it’s more practical than a supra.
Yeah man, the new b58 is a great engine. If you go with a bigger turbo and want more than 500whp get port Injection, not meth through the boost pipe.
