You don’t need to do all of this. The motor is mounted by three T25 screws. You should be able to fit a small ratchet into one of the openings in the tailgate from inside and remove the screws without removing the whole regulator. Once the screws are removed the motor will slide right out. Unplug the cable and plug in the cable to your new motor. Line up the teeth and replace the screws. Done. I think sometimes they might have 8mm head bolts holding them in but either way it’s only three screws and the regulator doesn’t have to come out.

The channel tracks were rusted OUT. I finally got those off, and I’m STRUGGLING to get the new ones on. Any tips?

Mine has maybe the same problem or similar, it got stuck right before it was all the way down preventing me from being able to open my tailgate. When I use the switch or the key it makes a sound as if the motor was working but it's hard to tell if its the same sound in this video due to the audio/ song. Can you tell me if before taking yours out you heard the same humming sound as if it was working but got no movement from the window? Great video looking forward to your response!

@@BRENDANTHERED yea so the sound I was referring to was the electrical rear window motor (or the power going to it) humming but not moving the gear/ window. I followed this video exactly and replaced it and that turned out to be the issue was the window motor stopped working. Works better and stronger than before I think it was $60-85 from Napa can’t remember. Good luck!

Hey man, i can't thank you ENOUGH for this video! I just bought a 91 and the rear window isn't rolling down. Mind explaining how you got as far as rolling the rear window halfway down? my window is stuck closed, and i've tried everything i can think of. Hope you see this comment.

@@breakfixgarage9875 I'm assuming you're talking about that blue box that inside the rear drivers side compartment in the cargo area? (behind the panel)

@@breakfixgarage9875 i got as far as disconnecting the rear window module, but i can't figure out how to push down the window from the inside. Care to elaborate on how you did so? did you use a bent coat hanger to pull the window down or did you pull down from somewhere on the window regulator itself?
