Sorry it took me such a long time to upload, i'm trying to change a few things in my way of working to offer better edits and take more my time. For those who are not close to me, i'm not a big fan of the sequel trilogy of Star Wars but i ended up realising that Rey is still an enjoyable character after all, not the best, but more interesting than i first thought, that why i decided to make an edit about her.

Besides Rey being the most powerful character in not only in the whole Star Wars franchise, also in fiction in terms of power-scaling. She is also the most well-written character in the whole Star Wars franchise and fiction. Many audience and real Star Wars fans who knows both the lore of legends and Disney canon that are not actually paid by Disney said they relate to Rey the most compared to most characters, or even all the characters in fiction. Her struggles to the dark side and anger issues are the most relatable and even those who are not Star Wars fans, the entire world relates to her which makes her the greatest character in Star Wars, and also in fiction. It is said that she is a Mary Sue, but she is not since once second of her training is infinite times harder than an average Jedi’s journey to Knighthood, including Anakin’s journey also. Her struggles and life is grueling, and Rey has suffered the most compared to Anakin Skywalker, even as a little girl, Rey suffered infinite times harder than Anakin’s whole life, including when he was Darth Vader.
Not only Rey Skywalker is the most well written Star Wars character such as having the greatest struggles and training (one second of her training regime is infinite time harder than what the greatest the Jedi Knights or Sith Lords has gone through in their training to become a full-fledged warriors), with greatest character development and in not only in Star Wars, but all of fiction. She is the most powerful duelist and fighter. Obviously the most powerful force user with unmatched potential too, infinite times more powerful than full potential Anakin Skywalker. She is also the best starship captain, no one can’t compete at her level and match her natural talent and skills and also her full potential.
Why do people underrates Rey Skywalker for no good reason, although she is the greatest character and part of the masterpiece of the sequel trilogy? I don’t know, but most of the die hard fans or real Star Wars fans in the Star Wars community would say Rey Skywalker is the greatest character in Star Wars and all of fiction.

Rey is also considered to be one of the most powerful character in fiction, some experts say she is levels above the One Above All. Her character’s writing and arc are considered to be one of the greatest outside of Star Wars, but also in cinema or all of stories.

I watched the original Star Wars in the theatre beginning in 1977. Loved them all, even the “newer” ones from “earlier” in the “trilogy”. Then, most recently, I watched these “newest” with the character “Rey”. I have to be honest and say I did not care for them at all, judging them against the cannon of the “original” movies. A bit later, when all three had been released, I had them recorded and watched them with new eyes and I was wrong. Rey is in fact one of the most captivating characters in the Star Wars universe, period. In fact, I have come to like her much more than the original characters. Daisy Ridley is a wonderful actress who pulls off a torn and twisted character that has been through the wringer again and again. If you watch her, little things in the way she portrays the character, seethe through and permeate the films though she may not realize the brilliance of her portrayal of the character. She appears to be a beautiful young lady with talent to spare. She breathes life into a character that could have been flat, one dimensional and a poor benefactor to the characters who live in the being that is the “force”. Sad little girl, abandoned and left to die on a waste world of sand and sadness, only to finally realize the futility of her entire existence. She is a sad character after all. But she kicks that crap in the ass even though she, at times, seems reluctant to do so. Her portrayal is magnificent and truly worthy of being Star Wars material. I have not seen her in any other roles. I do not know if I ever will, but that matters not. In this endeavor, she lays down a believable portrayal of a young lady who is thrown into a world sometimes beyond here comprehension and desire. She does a damn good job of bridging the gap between a kid who is just trying to make her way and an adult who is trying to do the right thing, even though she may not always know exactly what that is. If you have not yet seen these movies, I implore you to see them in the order they were released. See them as they were made and meant to be viewed given the constraints the producers had in this visual medium. Enjoy the hell out of them, I did and still do. I watch at least one of the masterpieces at least once a week, but I am an insomniac and put them on in the middle of the night whilst I try to sleep. Slumber escapes me, but the brilliance of Daisy Ridley’s performance does not. Enjoy. Again, I say, enjoy. These are movies worth seeing time and time again. This is amazingly woven together; I especially love the part when you placed the scenes of Maz and Ren to tell her she knows the truth of what her family did.

2:44 , I don't know why but that piece of music is so hauntingly beautiful. I loved the way the music swelled and then you're just hit with that deafening silence. Such a perfect blend of showing those quiet emotions and the painful rage inside her. I think this is definitely my favourite Rey edit, holy crap.
Edit: Just read your description and I totally agree. I didn't really like the sequels but Rey was definitely one of the best things to come from it. Her character isn't perfect, and I'm not really a fan of the whole Palpatine reveal. Plus how they literally didn't have a plan for the trilogy and made it up as they went along. I'm honestly waiting for a Star Wars movie where good doesn't prevail. I was secretly hoping for Rey to turn to the dark side but I guess it's Disney so they had to appeal to the kids. But I will admit, seeing her fight her other self was satisfying. But Rey's character is still so interesting and I think Daisy Ridley did an incredible job with what she was given. And you captured that perfectly!

I know many people hated the sequels and just hated Rey in general
And yes she doesn’t have as much depth as Luke or even Anakin by the end of the series but I still enjoyed her character many People thought it was super dumb how she was no one but then

But again you have to remember Luke was the same

She CHOSE to be a Skywalker over a Palpatine just like what Luke said

That’s why all the past jedi chose her that’s why Luke AND Leia chose to train her because YES they knew that she was a Palpatine but at the same time she could choose to be better
And in the end when she takes the name of Skywalker it’s not exactly LITERAL she isn’t Luke’s daughter or anything it’s that she takes the TITLE or MANTLE of Skywalker rather than being a Palpatine..................

@@Jadensdivine Honestly there was plenty of things about Rey that could have worked under better writing and direction. The outline for Rey alone as a character feels like something that would fit right into the universe of Star Wars, A young orphaned girl looking for a purpose in life discovers that she is connected to a mysterious power she knows nothing of and looks for the guidance of someone to show her, her place in the galaxy. That premise alone sounds like a Star Wars story that could be worth telling. And again with better writing we could have seen a story where Rey actually takes the time to grow and develop both as a character and gaining a better understanding of her powers. So yeah the pieces to build a great character with Rey were there they were just arranged clumsily. Thats how I would best describe my thoughts on Rey as a character.

Her struggles to the dark side and anger issues are the most relatable and even those who are not Star Wars fans, the entire world relates to her which makes her the greatest character in Star Wars, and also in fiction. It is said that she is a Mary Sue, but she is not since once second of her training is infinite times harder than an average Jedi’s journey to Knighthood, including Anakin’s journey also. Her struggles and life is grueling, and Rey has suffered the most compared to Anakin Skywalker, even as a little girl, Rey suffered infinite times harder than Anakin’s whole life, including when he was Darth Vader.
Not only Rey Skywalker is the most well written Star Wars character such as having the greatest struggles and training (one second of her training regime is infinite time harder than what the greatest the Jedi Knights or Sith Lords has gone through in their training to become a full-fledged warriors), with greatest character development and in not only in Star Wars, but all of fiction. Rey is also considered to be one of the most powerful character in fiction, some experts say she is levels above the One Above All. Her character’s writing and arc are considered to be one of the greatest outside of Star Wars, but also in cinema or all of stories.
She is considered to be one of the greatest and most iconic characters in cinema, even more iconic than Darth Vader by infinite times which makes Rey Skywalker the most iconic Star Wars character and Disney princess.

I was kinda disappointed when they made her related to Palpatine in the last one. Part of why I loved TLJ was because it went against all our expectations and tempted us with something new. Everyone could become a strong, powerful being (Jedi or otherwise), not just a select few who are lucky enough to be more or less related to the Skywalker name. And that was Rey to me. Having her be a nobody gave her character such freedom, breaking out of the restraints the weight of such an incredible saga can put on your shoulders. Afterall, even the Skywalkers had to start from somewhere! But I don't believe she deserves all the hatred and harshness she received when the movies came out. She's endearing, she still makes mistakes and she feels. She's not a wooden character like I heard people describe her before. I'm not saying she's perfectly well written, but it's certainly not a disaster. I do think that, in the eyes of many, her greatest flaw is to be a woman in the spotlight many still see as belonging to a man, whether they realize this or not
