My grandpa was a part time deputy Sheriff and correctional office prior to end of WW2 and a bit after, very fond of the .351 WSL. UNTIL THE DOC could acquire US M1 carbines they used the .351 as well. Known several older hunters in my youth who hunted deer and wild boar with these with good results. Far superior to U.S M1 .30 carbine. Exceptionally nice 1907 you have as well.
Not long after I got my .351 I took it to the woods and shot over a real good 8 or 10 point. Turns out he was much closer than I had estimated. When I was a kid I hunted with some good friends and three of them used the .351. One guy had a nack for killing deer and whenever he shot one with his .351 his wife cursed the round saying it ruined too much meat. I have shot several wild hog with mine and I have no complaints.
